You would think that the sensible thing to do is wait for Alan Burrows to join and he has huge input into who the new manager will be.

Hmmm that’s a concern.

Bear in mind he’s had a big say in Motherwell appointing McGhee, Barraclough, Alexander & Hammell.

I like Barry Robson but I hope we are looking at Motherwell and United at the moment in terms of how their own internal promotions have panned out

I really don’t have the stomach for being in this position again in 12 months time

Aye, caretaker managers rarely work.

Burrows doesnt take up the reigns til the end of Feb, and if he has any sense he will allow those already there to do the spadework.

At least that way he can absolve himself of responsibility if it all goes breasts skyward in a year or two.

He’s a big boy, I doubt that’s entering his thoughts or he wouldn’t be joining us.

McGhee got us into the top 6 that season.

Baraclough kept us up. You might have heard we beat Rangers 6-1 in the process.

We were bottom of the league when Alexander took over. He not only comfortably kept us up but delivered European football in his only full season in charge.

They didn't necessarily work out long term but short term they did precisely what they were brought in to do.

The only genuine failure of those 4 is Hammell.

Aye, but Aberdeen aren’t thinking short-term for just this season.
