Monkey Tennis
A brilliant statement. They've somehow managed to make things considerably worse. The obvious and sensible thing to do would have been to sack Goodwin. If deciding, for whatever reason, to keep him though, then he needed backed with some actual evidence of faith and support. To keep him, yet undermine him even further though, is impressively stupid. Hats off.
kent_don
Football monitoring board Made up of 0 people that would get a job in the runnings of the football operation at any other football club Thought Dave was at least ruthless among them. Then again he can’t afford to appoint a 3rd dud in 3 years…

I mean that statement is hardly a ringing endorsement of your position. You don’t think they are in a state of shock after losing 5-0 to a fairly average, on the night, Hearts team, and then having the worst result in the history of the Scottish Cup?
Rodhull
As the here we go twitter account said it's hard to believe the club have a PR professional on the board as that statement is probably about as bad as it could possibly have been. Neither backs nor sacks the manager, just fobs it off for a few days.
AJF
Totally appreciate why the Dons fans are so angry. It’s simply delaying the inevitable. Once the fans turn there is no coming back.
gazelle83
c***s can all f**k off. Cormack, Gunn, Garner, Milne , Goodwin , Sharpe. Fucking joke club. Hearts and darvel were sackable offences on their own merits but fucking back to back . Spent over 2 million on players half of which can't get a game cos they're fucking pish. The football is fucking horrific and that's with some of the best players we've had in decades. What a disaster these utter c***s have been.

flyingscot
I don't get that statement from Aberdeen. If you decide, actually we're going to give him a chance to turn it round, then perhaps not throwing him and the players under a bus with more pressure would have helped? Ultimately for Aberdeen it's less than a year since the same thing happened for Glass, then Aberdeen paid money for Goodwin and his backroom team and backed him heavily in the transfer market. To pay off Goodwin and start again after less than a year is expensive and suggests backroom failings. Plus the names to replace Goodwin are not exactly brilliant.

Kempes
Think they will sign some proper defenders any time soon? Surely they have to, now?
highland_mechanic
Sorry Hibs as I enjoy the trip to Easter Road but I will be heading into Pittodrie and handing my ticket for Saturday back. Won't be back until Goodwin is gone.
jagfox
Apparently he was set to be sacked but Dave Cormack didn't realise Mark McGhee had retired from management. Back to the drawing board...

Alert Mongoose
McInnes wouldn't have stood for that nonsense. Reckon about 65-75% of the Dons fans want him back. -

We want to publically back ye Jim, but we're scared of the fans reaction so we'll need to get a hefty dig in as well. Either back the guy or sack him.
Bogbrush1903
Cormack is the Doric Vladimir Romanov...if it didn't have such dire consequences for the club if it continues then it would be funny, which of course it is for supporters of other teams
