The Famous Aberdeen - Season 2022/23

There's been some imaginative signings announced far from the usual 'lazy' ones and it's giving us some optimism for the season ahead.

However, I would probably footnote that with a word of caution, that Ramadani & Miovski were both involved with a team that struggled last year. It might be that MTK had an awful squad and these two stood out.

Richardson and Stewart unknown quantities to the Scottish game but we hope that they hit the ground running.

I think the squad still requires overhaul. These players seem to be what we're looking for but I'd still like to see some players leave like Gallagher, McLennan, Woods Ramirez and Ferguson. The latter two because it's obvious they don't want to be here any longer. Therefore, ideally, we'd get at least 3 or 4 more in.

I'd be willing to give Bates and Kennedy another transfer window to prove their worth to the squad.

Supposedly lauritsen has made a poor life choice

Aye, on Twitter Sparta have basically said he’s theirs & chosen them over us.

Norwegian journo confirmed it too.

Pity.
Can’t win them all though.
I was looking forward to a front three of Vicente/Toby/Bojan

Aye, hopefully a sign that we’re after a calibre of player that’s well sought after.

We move on.

Aye & if/when Ramirez goes, I think we’ll go for more than the “young striker on loan” that Jim Goodwin eluded to today in REDTV interview.

We DID try to get Lauritsen too, so why would that strategy now change?

Vaclav is a legend down Paisley way for the number of saves he made in this game to keep Dundee United down in the championship after the playoffs.

St Mirren were doomed for relegation that season after that cnut Stubbs and his sidekick Darren Jackson the p***k took charge. Thankfully we turned things around and stayed up.

Penalties start at 6mins 9 secs.

I'll try and see if he appears tonight, would've last night but a screaming 2 month old takes priority 😂

Finally got there 😅

How I see the 3 defensive signings.

Richardson - Very much an attacking FB/WB, some questions marks about him defensively but he seems a good like for like type replacement for Ramsay to me?

Stewart - Not one I'd be keen on, being below average defensively doesn't look great considering it doesn't look like he'll add much on the ball. Every chance theres some weirdness in these when looking a big old clogger in a good side though. Get the impression hes an "old fashioned" CB.

Scales - My boy.

Honestly, all three look like fits for a back 5. Richardson needs to get high, Stewart needs to be allowed to just sit and blooter things, and Scales looks best on the left of the 3 CBs. Wonder if theres a chance you go...

Richardson - McCrorie - Stewart - Scales - Hayes

Occasionally read the hat for the gossip but in general it’s terrible.
Much prefer the vibe on here rather than all the ITK garbage.

Ach I'm just having my fun, I get some bits here and there, many people on there don't believe me so I like to play with them, I'll not act up on here.

Aye would have been nice get both them strikers here , but if we had to take one then think we all would have went for Bojan., it’s big investment fae the club .

Wouldn’t be surprised if the next striker will be a loan and we wait for that special one to buy.  Lauritsen  transfer has shown that these type strikers are going have  other options . We won big with Bojan but lost out with the Norwegian .  They were our main targets  and i I dinna think it’s gan be easy get similar quality this window . Unless Mowbray got another one up his sleeve .   We might have wait,  rather than buy striker with less quality . Nae gan get all we want in one window but loving fit we have brought in so far .  Permanent deal  for Ronan would excellent.  Aye long way go in window yet ..

Really hope we get McCrorie out of defence. He's not a centre back. His best performances for us have all came in midfield, where we are still lacking.
