DrewDon
Shame it didn't work out for him here. Probably a cock-up rather than a conspiracy.

Was never given a chance by McInnes and I can’t blame the guy for wanting to be nearer his family after spending lockdown here alone. This transfer is cloaked in mystery; however, the evidence (the McInnes preference on players that had played in the British game, and the fact that he barely played him) suggests that McInnes was presented with this player. If that was the case then I can fully understand why McInnes didn't play him. I'm not sure that the player himself (Hernandez) or the manager (McInnes) understood why he had ended up at Aberdeen. Most fans didn't either. Of course, the restrictions were tough on the player and his family. Although, I assume the family wasn't with him in Norway either. There was something rotten to the core with regards this transfer and Cormack was at the centre of it. I remember when I first heard about it one Friday afternoon and it seemed odd straight away. That Hernandez transfer news in fact indirectly told us that McInnes days were numbered. Edited January 18, 2022 by Bogbrush1903

Aye, how often do we pay 800K for player?
coprolite
Pesonally i think the Hernandez affair was more about Dave trying to play at being a manager and less about doing anything shady. I just can't see what the shadiness would be. Could be wrong but we'll never know.

Same And I really don’t care anyway I think it’s been a bit bizarre how invested some Aberdeen fans have got in this We bought a player, the manager didn’t like him, he moved on and we recoup most of the losses Hey ho

That Hernandez transfer news in fact indirectly told us that McInnes days were numbered.Yeah, it’s clear we became aware of this through Atlanta and Cormack railroaded it through with his own money, whether McInnes wanted the player or not. I’m not necessarily blaming DM in that situation but if we’re going to be spending nearly £1mil on a player, he needs to be a guaranteed starter before he walks in the door.He wouldn’t have been with his family all the time in Norway but he wouldn’t have been stuck in a house on his own for months on end not able to train or socialise with his teammates. A strange situation all round. Funnily enough, if we were selling Ramsay for a few million and bringing in a player of Hernandez’s ilk (sanctioned by HoR and/or the manager this time), it would probably have worked out a hell of a lot better. I wouldn’t be against us making a move like that again with the structure and staff we now have in place.

There was definitely more to it than meets the eye and whilst I’m not suggesting it’s something earth shattering, it was a clear outlier in terms of how we do our business and closely tied to the new arrangement with Atlanta. I’m certainly interested to know what really went on. But then I’m a boring b*****d.
Willie adie
This was solely Colgate doing, Hence why Mcinnes hooked him at half time in his first game a girfuy to Colgate

Will probably go on to be a bit of a knowledge share, with youth players being loaned to each other for some development.

There has definitely been a few red flags early on in the relationship but it does seem to be settling.

First offloaded Gallagher on to us, then landed us with a bloke they deemed too shit to manage them and to top it off we took Gurr off their hands.
DukDukGoose
So, Glass is decent but we need to start taking more points off the lower placed teams. Fair summation of his time so far?

More points certainly wouldn't hurt.
Frank Grimes
Aye, jury still out, it’s been a really mixed bag but I think we’re going in the right direction I don’t think we’ll catch Hearts so he needs to finish 4th and get a good cup run to keep the fans onside going into next season

I think we'll do really well when he finally susses out how to break down the teams who defend deep. 14 minutes ago, Frank Grimes said: Aye, jury still out, it’s been a really mixed bag but I think we’re going in the right direction I don’t think we’ll catch Hearts so he needs to finish 4th and get a good cup run to keep the fans onside going into next season Hearts could fall apart depending on this Souttar situation. All hope not lost IMO. Tough ask though.

Last night we competed very well and it’s not often we control a game against them like that but I still don’t feel we asked them enough questions in the final bit. People are more forgiving because it’s them and we didn’t lose but I think if we’d gone on to lose that 1-0 we’d be pretty raging that we didn’t particularly trouble them for all the ball we had.
