Hedges is significantly better at that than Wright though, but usually gets played out wide because we have limited options. So what we really need is a RWB so that Kennedy can play up off the left where he excelled for St. Johnstone.

You don't think Hedges has looked at his best when played with Wright?

This whole Wright affair absolutely reeks of the agent being an absolute bawbag. Unfortunately that's the way football is these days, and we better get used to it if we want to become one of the fabled #Top100.

Furthermore, the club have often stated they want to have the best youth system in the country. There's absolutely no point in that if we can't keep these players for long enough to make an impact on the first team, and then make money on them. It's probably too late now that the **** are involved, but we really shouldn't be letting prospects have less than a year on their deal.

The counter-argument on Wright would be that the club had every opportunity to dangle what would have been a modest contract during his injury spell and he'd probably have been like to rat up a drainpipe to sign it, despite being on crutches.

It was a huge season for him, and for half a dozen games or so, we found a formula that made him a standout.  The agent will quickly jump on that and quickly remind him that any moral obligation to the club that spent 13 years developing him, for the previous return of a couple of good games against Partick Thistle, can go out of the window.

Pre-Bosman, at least we got seven-figure sums off them for Robertson and Steven Wright............one positive from Brexshit could be doing more to protect clubs that spend time developing players, rather than these pishy little comp fees in place now and all that freedom of movement/employment law nonsense.

I've no idea why other fans would call us tories.

Absolutely, subjectively you can look back and recall some nice passages of play that involved both of them. But objectively you could argue that Hedges looked at his best when the whole team was playing, given half our squad was decimated prior to the one fixture.

And the whole team hasn't looked good since Wright and Watkins were injured.

I'm much more concerned about McLennan given he also OOC this summer, two years younger and played the same amount of games as Wright.

... And who has achieved just as little in his time at Aberdeen as Wright.

Either these young players aren't good enough or McInnes isn't giving homegrown youngsters the opportunity to shine.

Guest Bob Mahelp

I thought the days were gone of braindead Scottish footballers...step forward Chris Maguire....throwing away their career by heading to dead end clubs in the lower English leagues.

Maybe not.
