He may well be quite right but to publicly say that is a bit defeatist this early in the season You seriously think DM says this in the dressing room or in training sessions ?The team have minimum points targets at various stages in the season, with the ultimate aim to improve on our record points total. If we do that (which he insists we are capable of this season) then we are right in the mix as teams have dropped so many points. His record in meaningful matches says it all. Before you bother posting this seasons results versus Rangers. I am well aware how poorly we have performed in those games. He is never in a million years a Rangers manager. Pedro was a huge mistake but we dodged a bullet with McInnes. Nothing against McInnes. His family live local and see him out and about all the time. Sheep62 Posted January 12, 2019 Share Posted January 12, 2019 Young Ferguson making noises about how much he is enjoying being at Aberdeen and despite being under contract until the summer of 2022 already, he isn't adverse to signing a longer contract. Now I'm not naive enough not to realise that this will be because he will be nowhere near our top earners by any stretch of the imagination so looking for a wage increase. If handled correctly this will be a win/win for both parties. Difficult to believe that he hadn't even played a single minute of first team football for The Accies this time last year. Been ever present in every Aberdeen game this season that he's been fit or not suspended for. It's fine just bury your head in the sand and use examples of players doing well in league one and two. You're right Dobbies 1 goal in every 6 at Swansea has shut me right the f**k up as has James Collins 1 goal in every two appearances in League TWO. I'm pretty sure Partick being awful has something to do with Lyle Taylor - yet he still scored a few for them. Players like Stephen Fletcher coming up here would have most fans creaming themselves. James Maddison, 2 goals in half a season up here, 14 goals in a full season in the Championship, 5 goals in half an EPL season. Stefan Johanson, 12 goals in 70 top flight games, 20 goals in 80 Championship games. There's three fairly easy to remember examples. I think people are wary of false dawns with centre backs coming up in Scotland of late . Which is reflected by how dire our centre backs are for the national team that McKenna is deemed a first pick. He is showing more promise though than Hendry ever has and is a miles better player so I would be happy if this rumour came to fruition. Hendry badly needs game time if he is evet going to make it as well.
