The Airdrieonians Close Season Thread 2014

Recommended Posts

We had Danny Rogers playing in goals for us last night and it looks like he may be given the number 1 shirt for the coming season. Believe he had a brief loan spell with you last season, any good?

I think he was ok, hard to remember who he was really as we went through about 7 keepers last season and outwith Adam they were all pretty gash.

Worst was without a doubt Colin Stewart.

Was alright. Was a solid keeper and didn't make any howlers (from what I remember). Thought he could have came off his line more often but perhaps he has improved on that part of his game since he played at Airdrie.

Anybody got anything to say on the Gary Bollan Q&A last night.

He was very positive.

Jack kirwan is expected to sign today

He reckons scott gray can be a far better player than mcaleer

He thinks hammill is a real asset also

All in all very positive

5 strikers who are looking to be playing every week, healthy competition for places yes, but who out the 5 is going to be happy to not be in the squad every week?

As I see it just now (excluding Kirwan as I haven't seen him yet) this is the order I'd put our forwards in:

1. Jim Lister

2. John Boyle

3. Liam Coogans

4. Keighan Parker

In answer to your question I believe it'll be the two younger players (Coogans and Kirwan) that will be most like tot spend most time on the bench - rightly or wrongly.
