Business / corporate speak nonsense

Recommended Posts

I've been trying to arrange a conference call with a couple of people and finally managed to get a date perfect for everybody.

First email response back?

"Super I have calendered this..."

Calendered? Tempted to cancel the conference call until the 12th of never now.

Cancel until another date? You mean postpone rather than cancel then.

Never heard that, but have heard diaried many times.  It's easier than saying "I have put it in my diary" and everyone can understand its meaning so I'm saying why not.  Corporate speak cnut that I am.

I'm going to start using "appointmented" to see if it catches on.

A rather fine contribution from a colleague today:

Using proprietary processes, specialised strategies can combine an original thematic lens with bottom-up analytics to identify investment opportunities throughout the value chain and across all industries.

It wasn't the workmate's doing, but we also collect doozies like that for the day when we will rule the world and some people will pay for their excesses. :thumsup2
