Was excellent for us but he was playing in a good settled team back then playing beside Flannigan in the middle of the park. Usually they would say if its a loan ,not much more detail . fafc1885 Posted January 6, 2023 Share Posted January 6, 2023 Strachan was on loan at us last season and although he started off shaky he was very good. He created a lot of chances and he was one of our better players in the first half of the season. I would say he’s better going forward than defensively but that isn’t to say he is poor in the latter. Bizarrely Gary Irvine then decided to drop him in January and play a CM there. I wonder if Rice was just rumours or if there was any communication. Noticed Howie wasn't in the squad today. Unless he's injured again, I'd take that as a sign he could be on the way out. Church has had a really good season since he was dropped, but we absolutely needed another left sided defender in. Sammon and Rodden just don't work together up front. Second half we went to 4-4-2 for a spell and dominated the game. They didn't really threat apart from a free kick off the bar and think we just deserved to win the game. A little disappointed in the away support today, get it that the distance and weather may have put people off but wasn't many of us there.
