I’m guessing he was released sometime yesterday otherwise he can’t sign elsewhere until January?

Correct!

Andy Stirling has been released, seems like strange timing unless the manager is bringing in another free agent. Keilor-Dunn anyone?

Any inclination as to where he's off to?

Bring him home, Duffy.

this has come as a bit of a disappointment to me, he would have been good to keep, I hope  PG knows what he is doing here we need more players not less .

I quite liked what I'd seen of Stirling. He was inconsistent, but players of that type nearly always are. I thought when he came on for Trouts a couple of times he gave us something a bit different.

It is what it is though and whether Peter Grant didn't fancy him or Stirling wasn't happy with lack of game time, the role he was being asked to play or whatever probably best that he's moved on. Hopefully we'll take the opportunity to get a quality replacement in.

But who ? good part time players are already snapped up, Stirling wont get any difficulty finding another club and will be sought after , as I said before I hope PG has other plans .

I'm sure he has loads of targets in mind. If there isn't anyone who fits the bill on a permanent basis then there are loan deals.

You can’t get loan deals now the window is shut. Only League 1 and 2 clubs can do so.

Hopefully PG can get a couple of guys without clubs in to add to the squad as it is very thin and will be a struggle if we have a couple of injuries or suspensions!

What worries me about this whole situation is how quickly it has developed , 4 games in and we have a player wanting away ?

their are no good P/T players available out there IMO  and as  D'Jaffo has said loans are out , DKD will find a full time club most likely .

Surely, this didn’t just come to a head yesterday. He could have been sold or swapped. Bit concerning, especially given limited squad numbers. Already have kids on bench.

Its not a normal situation though, with a new manager coming in after most of the squad was signed up. Stirling was a Goodwin signing, and the player himself even stated his main reason for joining was to work with Jim. That in itself was probably a risk to both parties- even if he hadnt joined St Mirren it was utterly inevitable Goodwin was never going to last the season at Alloa.

Hes a good player, I thought he had plenty to offer. But if the manager doesnt fancy the player or vice versa- its a frequent occurrence in football and we move on.

Alloa played some really nice football yesterday, Flanny is like the Scottish Pirlo in that holding role.

Some fans are extremely quick to get down Grant's throat, especially when we conceded yesterday. Although Goodwin wasn't exactly a fans favourite when he got the job.

IMG_2036.jpgShameless plug. Apologies.

If you’re not Dundee bound, I’m hosting a charity match at the recs for Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland. Here’s a bit about it: http://www.justgiving.com/Heartofthegame?utm_id=124

Sorry for intrusion! Back to the Waspies.

Rumours has it big Neil is out for the season apparently snapped ligaments in his ankle. If true a massive Blow. He kept us in a number of games.☹️
