Jack Hamilton...any good?

Not really.

Didn’t get much of a chance with us to be fair but didn’t really do much when he was on for me. Might be being harsh on the guy as it was his first real stint at first team football, outside of his wee cameos for Livi, but he didn’t reach the levels that Livi fans built him up to be.

Maybe a full season to get into the swing of things and playing alongside an experience Dobbie will bring more out of him. Good luck to him.

When he first arrived he was too slow and too lazy, jim soon got him working hard and he improved , not a big fan though missed two right in front of goal sitters that could have had us well sorted before the last game nerves last season , will improve but really the championship was beyond him last season .

More than Hartley and Goodwin though. Also played at a good level and galvanised a truly honking Wee Rovers last season. Whether he is on Mike's list is anyone's guess, but a better choice than a few of the names suggested.

maybe for league 1 but I would fear for him in the Championship . in the end it doesn't matter who we would like .the board could surprise us all

I thought given his impressive work at Montrose that Petrie would be better placed staying put and aiming to jump directly from there to full-time management. If it really is the case that he doesn't want to go full-time then it's a different scenario. He'd be a really good choice for us. Harper too has shown potential and would be worth talking to, although still pretty early for him as a manager.

Petrie is a shoe in for Arbroath when Dick retires. I think it is far too early for Harper, he did well with Albion Rovers but they stayed up above the one of the worst teams ever to play in any of the leagues, big jump into the championship.

Former Falkirk assistant, Gordon Young, may be a front runner according to AA. Currently in charge of Latvian side, Liepāja, and assistant manager of their national side. Was assistant under Barry Smith and Paul Hartley at a few clubs in the country after heading up the Motherwell academy.

Needs to be someone who likes to play good football and not afraid to go at teams like Jim or jack Ross. Would be a disaster if we ended up with a park the bus merchant

yep , we need to keep to the same formula apart from who wants to watch that on a reduced pitch , and talking of which I hope the new manager changes this before the league start

hated looking at it in the AR friendly  another game where it did not suit us at all it is a leveller for teams with less ability IMO .

Well, indeed. Which was the logic behind doing it in the first place, initially when we were a part-time side in the championship under Jack Ross and then again when we were a part-time side in the championship under Jim Goodwin.
