The Alloa Athletic Thread

Far from vintage, but in the hat for the fourth round and, ultimately, that’s what matters tonight.

Made things difficult for ourselves in the second half being far too passive when we could have went on to have a comfortable evening, but to be honest, outside the goal and a half chance just after, Broomhill created nothing and never looked like threatening.

The heads gone from their bench at the ref coming off was pleasing viewing though.

Truer words were never spoken. Fair play to them for capturing the attention of some fans but some of them are living in a complete fairytale about how much of  a 'scare' they gave us. We weren't particularly ruthless. I'd say we were methodical and had the slippers and cigars out for 75 minutes.

Andy Graham makes a mistake for the corner then Broadfoot gets the run on him to score. We have a hairy 5 minutes after the goal as the panic sets in after a mistake but by the end of the 90 we were pushing again and had the momentum.

Very unfortunate I don't have a view of the handball. Kevin Cawley's head is perfectly in the way however the official footage from the Scottish Cup videographer and Broomhill's cameraman might have it. We were all in a slightly different position. Both of them thought he handballed it when I asked them at the end.

Agree with all, we were on top for most of the game but struggled to break down Broomhill. Needed that second goal and there's always a danger with such a slender lead. I think we would still have gone on to win in extra time, but thankfully the late penalty saved us another 30 minutes- wasn't a particularly great watch.

Looked like a fairly clear handball from the stand.

Signs we hadn't fully recovered from last week's collapse but we are in the hat for the next round and that's all that matters really.

Just seen the stats on the BBC,  2 shots two on target ? so the goalie saves and the clearance on the line don't count

will never trust that again  .   poor defensive performance ,      positives !    , Durnan back and wee kev doing what he does best , scoring and not defending
