Ferguson on the other hand has signed boys from EK, not with clubs and not even getting a game with lower league teams. Rarely plays and gets sent off when he does.Looked like he could do well at CB in his first few appearances but he hasn’t had a chance to play there since. Oweny Posted December 28, 2021 Share Posted December 28, 2021 Garner wasn't that bad for us . Navigated a top 6 finish in the old first division after Totten left in November 1982. A tough First Division that included Hearts ,St Johnstone and many others . We played some brilliant football that season . He left halfway through the following season albeit we were struggling. We had players like bryan Purdie and Drew Paterson injured which affected us. He did sign Frankie Cole , Gary Thompson who went on to be absolute brilliant players for Alloa. He left to take up a full time role as Alex Ferguson's assistant at Aberdeen. Willie Garner was a terrific player though .
