Sergeant Wilson
This is a genuine 'space' picture of the UK (apart from the Northern Isles). Snow scene from Jan 2010. From the NASA Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer satellite (MODIS) Edit to add: Higher res image on the link. Clicking on that then clicking again to zoom, some areas snow free (like Cumbrae) http://wordpress.mrreid.org.nyud.net:8090/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/uk-snow-january-2010-large.jpg Wales and the west country look like Witchiepoo. Ya Bezzer!
People really care about things like this? Wow. It's not really important in itself but it's symptomatic of how things that are supposed to be 'national' are heavily skewed towards London and the south east. Bully Wee Villa
I think the weather forecasts are broadcast from London. So Scotland's not small, it's far away. I think there was already an outcry about this a few years back and Scotland got made bigger again. We had a moan too down here because they didn't show Birmingham, they soon changed it after some half-arsed local newspaper campaign.

The UK forecast should follow Reporting Scotland's lead and take the piss every now and again. Don't you love it when Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow get bumped in favour of places like Finzean, Limekilns and Quarrier's Village?

UTV do that with their forecast all the time (or maybe it's BBC Northern Ireland !) They show wee places like Galbally, Moorfields, Stranocum rather than Omagh, Ballymena and Coleraine.
