Why would they though? No government (especially not this one) is going to risk making themselves unpopular to their target voters by calling to legalise drugs or change things dramatically. Easier to come out and say some kind words, say you are committed to tackling the dealers then go back to whatever crackpot scheme they are thinking up to save money.

Which is what I was saying. They will do precisely f**k all.

No reason for them too. It would probably sort the economy right out but your average middle-England Tory isn't going to be happy about legalising drugs IMO.

It's along the same lines as the Government focussing on hammering people on benefits rather than going hell for leather after tax avoiders. The Daily Mail reading right wingers that make up a massive chunk of their voting core would rather the former bore the brunt.

For the avoidance of doubt she was not killed by a Red Mortal Kombat, she was killed by some bawbag drug dealer who has copied the design to pass off genuinely dangerous substances as a Red Mortal Kombat.

This is what happens when you don't know what you are buying or where it came from.

Same way you're going to get tainted booze bought from a guy with a Slazenger hold all in the Barras.

The only way to stop this happening is to legalise and regulate.

The fact some people genuinely don't want young people to be able to test their pills before taking them is symptomatic of the ignorant morons over 40 that run this country. You want people to run the risk of dying for having the temerity to enjoy themselves in a different way from alcohol, the drug which causes more problems than all others. You are the modern day equivalent of 'flat earthers'.

Someone died at the Warehouse Project as well last season from PMA. Pretty sure that it acts similarly to MDMA but takes much longer to kick in and is much stronger which means people end up taking more than one thinking they've bought a dud. The problem is there's such a blanket refusal to have a sensible debate on the subject which means people are being taught in school that weed will inevitably lead to harder drugs or that one pill can kill you. So when this doesn't happen people come to disregard all of the advice they've ever been given and start potentially taking genuine risks. Of course it's never going to be completely safe but many European countries have had success in free drug testing in nightclubs and they're not drowning in drugs worse than the UK. As it is, people need to remember to try and buy off of people that they know, let their friends know what they're taking and make sure to monitor their own drinking etc to the best of their ability.

Decriminalise, control the quality, let folk know exactly what they are taking, and tax the f**k out of it.

The sensible way to do it, so it'll never happen.

Yep. I haven't heard an argument against this that doesn't go into tabloid-style rants about "gateways" and the like.

What good is regulating drugs going to do?

People saying regulating and taxing drugs will help. Get real for one minute people with heart conditions they don't know about are gonna take them and end up in a bad way legal or not. Being available in shops are only going to put more people at risk.
