orlandoblue
He didn't really have a shocker. Ducked one or two questions but I thought he did ok. FM very good on TV as usual but stuck to the "they're lying" line.
AMMjag
I'll watch it later or tomorrow but what's the general gist of his shocker? *Stutter, mumble, dodge, deflect* Really nothing out of the ordinary with your average Lib Dem tbh, just sticking strictly to the Westminster fear mantra. He really does stand out as a downright awful politician though.
ayrmad
Debt is not a matter determined by successor statehood. That relates to membership of treaties. Debt is determined by the principles of customary international law subject to negotiation. The debt will be vary small when we liquidise our assets in full. Wee Bully
I don't say that Scotland is liable for a portion of the UK's debt. I'm saying that they would be liable for an equitable share in consequence of negotiations in the event it became independent. You seem to have difficulty telling the difference between past, present and future tense. Sorry, but that is bollocks. Only one person suffering with tense, and that is you. Scotland currently IS liable for a portion of the UK debt. We are part of the UK and therefore liable AT THE MOMENT.

The UK is liable of which Scotland is a part, but that's not the same as Scotland being liable. The debt isn't owed by co-debtor nations.

H_B
Gordon on radio Scotland currently telling us that we've got a right to the pound cause a Scotsman founded the Bank of England. Dear oh dear. Salmond was embarrassed by someone on Radio Scotland a bit before about this. Apparently he's repeated than numerous times when interviewed, as if it were in any way relevant. The questioner pointed out that this is the same guy who masterminded the Darien fiasco that at least partly led to the Union in the first place. Salmond just mumbled. H_B
Naivety of the highest order or just playing the bawbag again? Perhaps you can explain how these "assets" are going to be "liquidated"? Sorry.. "liquidised".
ayrmad
Perhaps you can explain how these "assets" are going to be "liquidated"? Sorry.. "liquidised". Perhaps you could explain how we're going to define our proper share of debts AND assets.

This is just knob-clutching BritNat fantasy. Salmond knows his history - Darien was blockaded by the English which contributed massively to its failure.
