Miguel Sanchez
2 hours ago, scottsdad said: Eating History (Blaze). The premise is simple. Two guys find/get sent old food and drink, still in the original packaging and unopened. They then open and try it. Caught one last night where they had cans of Billy Beer (which I thought only existed in an episode of the Simpsons). Gave the history - it was only made in 1977 and was named after Jimmy Carter's brother. So, two cans of unopened beer from 1977. They opened it, drank it, and the reactions were pretty special. Basically it tasted like yeasty bin juice. They tried crackerjacks from 1938 that had dead insects on them, cod liver oil from the 1920s, a 1990s candy bar...for some reason it is an utterly joyous 20-odd minutes of TV. A wee bit like Pawn Stars in the way they describe the background to the stuff they are about to ingest. Then you see if the stuff is nice or nasty (mostly nasty). Type 'ashens' into YouTube.
coprolite
Almost finished Too Old to Die Young (Prime) following recommendations on the film thread. Very good. Not suitable for children, or for my wife. Fully on board with the recommendations for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (iplayer). First time for me cos I'm not that old. Just started Sisyphus on Netflix. Promising Korean Sci fi. Also not long started watching Lockwood and Co (also Netflix) with the youngest. Supernatural caper where kids have powers to see ghosts, from Joe Cornish. Looking very good so far. 10 yo enjoying it anyway.

specsaver
The Piano, on Ch 4 last night from Leeds train Station, you must watch the young blind girl play the piano. This rendered the world renowned pianist Lang Lang speechless.

coprolite
Please watch Lockwood and Co so it gets a second series. I really want to know Spoiler What's behind that door.
Miguel Sanchez
I've been watching Father Ted on All 4. I don't really find it funny because I've seen all the jokes have their arse ripped out on here, but it was still slightly surreal seeing this gif in context:
Derry Alli
Watched "The Gold" over the weekend on iplayer. 6 x 1hr episodes around the Brinks Mat robbery and subsequent actions of those involved. Quite an enjoyable watch, I'd recommend it.

Arch Stanton
When I visit my Mum I occasionally catch Doctors on BBC1. They've replaced the mildly irritating Valerie with a hugely annoying Munchkin with a honking Birmingham accent.
DrewDon
I binged through both series of Early Doors on iPlayer over the last week. Good stuff. This isn't the best quality of video, but this scene stood out as particularly funny:

Scene I liked is when that thick couple have entered the Pub Quiz and decide to drink half pints to keep their heads clear. The barman suggests that they each order two at once, and if he puts them both in the same glass it'll save them having to come back to the bar. Which they think is a good idea...

Nah, Eddie suggests they get a half pint each so they can stay focussed. Joan thinks it's a great idea and asks him to get them two half pints each. Eddie goes to order thinking it's a great idea and Ken, looking bewildered, says "I'll tell you what Eddie, I'll put them in pint pots for you" (Sorry for the pedantry, I'm rather sad when it comes to tv shows I love given I binge them regularly).
