Things that annoy or delight you on the telly right now

Recommended Posts

BBC2 last night (so should be on iplayer).. David Baddiel Confronting Holocaust Denial.

Definitely worth a watch - some harrowing stuff (eg meeting a survivor and hearing her talk about seeing her family being taken away to the ovens) but he still manages to make it an entertaining watch at times. He meets an Irish denial nutjob and beforehand makes it clear to the camera that he is no Louis Theroux and then gets dragged in to a half hour row with the guy and ends up having to go to the pub to calm his nerves.

He did really well not to just thump the Irish guy although I couldn't help but laugh when he said that was the less offensive of the songs he sang. He must just be known as the town nutter to avoid in the pub.

Certainly worth a watch (but obviously not an easy watch).

Problem is that, thanks to the internet, he's now part of an influential global community of town nutters.

I've been binging on Killjoys on Amazon Prime, I watched the first series on Syfy when it came out and its absolutely class, very much of a Firefly vibe. Nearing the end of season 4, have one more to go and its been brewing to a big cresendo.

First 6 episodes of Life On Mars is on demand with UKTV play, great sunday binge.

BBC iPlayer has all the episodes from Life On Mars and Ashes To Ashes. You’d be better off watching those as the UKTV Player episodes are cut to ****!

New series of The Trip on Sky.  The whole series is available to watch at once.

If there is anything more delightful than Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon having a Roger Moore off, then I'd like to know what it is.

I shouldn't really like this as I'm not a Coogan fan but the first three series were superb and the first episode of this current run already has the same humour, food porn and pathos as the other trips. Such an easy programme to watch but with that hint of sadness about growning old, family strife and ego. Superb stuff.

It's just fantastic, and each series has been as good as the last.  The beauty of it, for me, is trying to figure out where The Trip Steve Coogan ends and real Steve Coogan begins.

Also, I agree about the food, I want to visit every place they gone and have dinner.

I'm not a fan of Rob Brydon normally, but you get a genuine feeling of friendship between them.

Not a massive fan of him either but his ‘man in a box’ impression is an absolute delight. Hopefully he’ll find a way to squeeze it into this series.

I drove four hours to the outskirts of Toronto to see The Trip To Spain in the cinema. I didn't have anything else planned for the weekend. Very much looking forward to doing the same to catch the movie version of this one.

I'm sure there are many alternative ways to catch this without leaving the house....

Probably. It was fun, though. And it turns out Toronto has loads on British Grocers so got a chance to stock up.

Them doing Roger Moore going 'Move!' was the best.

My favourite Moore bit was in "to Spain" when they sit for what seems like 5 minutes doing a bit about the Moors as Roger Moore.
