Can someone recommend me a good British TV show that’s been made in the last few years?

I’m fed up watching IT Crowd repeats.

I’m not really into police dramas where everyone seems to whisper.

Toast of London. Can you hear me Clem Fandango?

Catastrophe. Available on All4.

That’s a great shout.

Taskmaster.

Yes. I fucking adore Taskmaster. Start at the beginning but skip the series with Noel Fielding, because Noel Fielding is in it

To be fair, even the series with Noel Fielding in it was worth watching because Mel was lovely and Hugh was utterly inept.

Joe Lycett was excellent in that series too.

One of the reasons I like the show as a whole is that it generally manages to show the good side of most of them, without their annoying traits, Nish Kumar being a prime example, where for once he comes across as quite likeable. This doesn't not apply to ALice Levine though, she's just a p***k.

James Acaster is my favourite contestant, and obviously Bob is just hilarious.

Spent the entire Alice Levine series wondering why the f**k she was on it. She wasn't funny or a particularly good lateral thinker and came across, as you say, a bit of a p***k and out of her depth. I didn't think I knew who she was but it turned out she's the most annoying one out of the three annoying c***s who do the My Dad Wrote a Porno podcast that was briefly amusing when it came out five years ago.

I think the Bob series is my pick of the bunch. Lovely, lovely Sally Phillips.

No Offence

A rather excellent police drama but with some elements of black comedy about it. Joana Scanlon is bloody brilliant in it.

My all-time favourite moment on Taskmaster was when the contestants came out of the caravan to find a telescope aimed at the task instructions, which were pinned to the wall on the far side of the yard. After they had all read them, with various degrees of difficulty, it cut back to the studio where Greg pointed out that nobody had actually said they had to use the telescope!

My favourite moment is either Tree Wizard, Bob Mortimer singing "Rosalind's a fucking nightmare", or Joe Wilkinson and the potato.

The bit on Taskmaster where Josh Widdicombe slowly realised that nobody else had to do the task of counting the baked beans in a tin/spaghetti hoops in a tin/grains of rice in a packet was great. Also, I enjoyed James Acaster calling Greg a pussy, then getting taken off stage to discuss it

The best solo task was Mark Watson having to send Greg cheeky texts

There was Joe Lycett who did the same task as everybody else, but only he had to do a cheesy grin to the camera every ten seconds.

I was happily tearing through series 4 on YouTube, looking forward to the Bob series coming up next. Then overnight, ViacomCBS have blocked the entire Taskmaster back catalogue. I assume they must own the US rights. I also assume that ViacomCBS are a shower of c***s.
