That's it, you've lost it.

Any last lingering iota of credibility = gone.

I cannot believe you just said that, what are you on. Even David Cameron can tell better lies than that, you could have at least put a cheeky smiley after that comment. Don't you know the BBC has been under siege the last few months for their biased coverage, SKY has been wall to wall NO as has most of the media...why am I even justifying this..you are completely mad.

I was going to actually engage with you in some debate but that has completely shown me you are more blinkered than all the horses on the 2.30 at Chepstow

Yep. Pretty much sums this fella up.

Obvious troll and all that...

Hardly. I was making a comment on what I've seen. The open mindedness and inclusivity of the Yes campainers on here isn't evident.....bit like the "plans" for implementation of independence

No mention of Alex Salmond in predictable slur...?? *faints*

Slur? No that would be offensive. Allowing Salmond to speak and aggressively deflect questions and bully journalists and instruct people to ignore people in debate is enough...let him do the work himself

I have never seen Salmond be "aggressive" or "bullying" with anyone.

You are utterly, utterly deluded and creepily obsessed.

Out of everything that has pissed me off about the media and their bias, this is by far the worst. Perhaps not in general scale of things but the attitude is appalling. The guy on the couch flat out says "why do we need to hear about the yes side"

That poor poor woman :(

Scottish independence: NUJ calls for end to journalist intimidation

The National Union of Journalists has called for an end to the bullying and intimidation of its members covering the independence debate.

The NUJ called on campaigners to rein in abuse, much of which it said was fuelled by anonymous attacks on social media against individuals.

The organisation also said there was a particular issue with intimidation of BBC journalists.

Both sides of the campaign have condemned abuse in all its forms.

The comments from the NUJ, three days before the referendum, came the day after a large crowd of protesters gathered outside BBC Scotland's Glasgow HQ, claiming the corporation's coverage had been biased against independence.

Protesters draped a banner over the entrance to the building calling for the BBC's political editor Nick Robinson to be sacked, after a clash with First Minister Alex Salmond at a media conference earlier last week.

The NUJ also said it had experienced a number of Labour MPs accusing BBC journalists of political bias against the pro-Union Better Together campaign.

The NUJ said it had already advised several of its members on making complaints to the police and vowed to "name and shame" those who continued to threaten or bully journalists.

And the union also called on the leadership of the campaigns for and against independence to consider the implications of accusing journalists of bias when they were simply asking challenging questions.

Weekend 'abuse'

NUJ Scottish organiser Paul Holleran said: "People have the right to protest if they believe strongly about an issue, however protesters outside the BBC offices in Glasgow this weekend have demanded that journalists be sacked, for allegedly being biased in favour of the Union.

"Journalists in Edinburgh and Aberdeen were abused over the weekend when simply turning up to report on events organised by both sides.

"Others were on the receiving end of a range of abuse and intolerance on social media, some of which has been logged and may be reported to the police."

Blair Jenkins, chief executive of the Yes Scotland campaign for independence, said of the BBC protest: "I don't think there was anything that happened here yesterday that caused anyone serious concern."

On the Nick Robinson banner, he added: "I would rather people didn't produce banners like that, but it is a free country and people are allowed to express an opinion."

Mr Jenkins, a former BBC Scotland head of news, said he had experienced intimidation as a journalist, adding: "Most journalists in this building (BBC Scotland) and everywhere else would regard yesterday as very, very low on the Richter Scale - it was a perfectly civil protest by people who were expressing a point of view."

Blair McDougall, the campaign director for Better Together, which is backing a "No" vote, said of the protest: "There was an enormous banner, with a picture of a BBC journalist's face on it calling him a liar and calling him corrupt.

"There was a line of police protecting the BBC building from a crowd of people demonstrating on behalf of the government party in Scotland. Is that the sort of country we want to live in?"

Mr McDougall added: "We have real concerns about the BBC coverage, we have often very furious rows behind the scenes, but we don't make it public as we are not in the business of intimidating journalists and we have got to be clear that is exactly what that demonstration was designed to do."

A BBC spokesperson said: "We believe our coverage has been fair and impartial and has adhered fully to the requirements of our Editorial and Referendum Guidelines

I walked past no campaigners on buchanan st yesterday about 1130. Not one of them were attempting to engage anyone.

In Glasgow today there was a large Yes presence up at the top of Buchanan Street (with a band belting out tunes for the shoppers), another half way down offering people a chance to discuss any issues they had, & yet another from those chancers of the Socialist Workers Party, who after 40 years of being completely anti-independence ("dividing the international working class blah blah Scottish nationalists are tartan Tories blah blah") have done a turnaround that would make an Italian army blush. Probably hoping to hang onto Tommy Sheridan's coat tails once more now he's popular again.

All the Yes ones were doing a roaring trade except for the SWP one, which was getting the sort of comical body swerves from shoppers the Krishna clip board mob used to get.

The total No presence was that same grubby little stall in Sauchiehall Street I saw back in July consisting of the same guy in the mobility scooter & the same nutter that accousted me before demanding I save my country from "Rome by stealth" (whatever that meant), plus some other third ager.

I find it almost beyond believe that with 48 hours to go this is the best No can muster, & the way they were so roundly ignored makes me think this isn't quite as neck & neck as we're being told. Yes are at least getting people to talk to them, nobody seems to want to give any of the No campaign the time of day.

So tomorrow is the last day before heading to the polling stations.

Anyone feel like predicting what the possible headlines from the newspapers will be from both sides?

Surely it's a nuclear option for No?

For Yes, A picture of Salmond in Gladiator get-up with a speech bubble: "What we do in Life... Echoes in eternity" ?

BBC in balanced programme shocker!

Alan Little piece from last night was pretty decent.

The no voting backward looking trade union official with a blazer, tie and a belly was in stark contrast to Little's Labour Councillor friend who looked normal.

The visual gave all the clues as to where we're going.

Just think how glorious Bird's face will be if the unthinkable happens. I could imagine her breaking the 4th wall as it were and telling us, the electorate, how irresponsible we have been.

She should get the boot from the Hogmanay show if it's a Yes. Catriona Shearer has been waiting in her shadow for far too long.
