Reynard Posted December 18, 2013 Share Posted December 18, 2013 Yeah, I think they can volunteer for chemical castration in the States which removes the desire and more importantly the capability to reoffend - suppose it's a tradeoff to try and get out earlier once they come up for parole. Don't think they would volunteer early in their sentence - as I understand it, it involves shooting the offender up with a shitload of female birth control drugs, with quite a lot of side effects - I doubt even the sickest beast on the planet would fancy wandering about a high-security jail for a couple of decades with an enormous pair of tits for instance... I didn't realise they made references to the specifics in the case in these documents, so be warned if you're reading it - the guy's a sick, sick b*****d. Can't agree that the women involved should serve the same sentence as Watkins though - he used a position of power to perform multiple acts on multiple parties. And I think a long stretch for Watkins is great punishment - he's not going to be able to wield anywhere near the same sort of power he abused, which should hopefully torment him throughout the sentence. Their music is forever tarnished by this. I wouldn't feel sorry for them at all. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Apparently he was having sex with fans as young as 14 after concerts. If this turns out to be true then It's hard to believe that the other band members weren't aware of what was going on. They must have suspected something. From the sound of it, he'd distanced himself from the test of the band for years. My personal opinion is that I don't think they had any idea, though it's only their statement I'm going on.
