Half way through and it's staggering how much we don't know about him,  more staggering is the bullshit that people make up about him 'under research'.

I started reading it yesterday. The same day he was born, St Georges day.  Well actually we don't know that, we do know he was christened on 26th April, so why not make his birthday the same as St George's Day, excellent.

Unfortunately in 1564 England had the Julian calendar, meaning he was born on the 3rd May😂

 

 

Funnily enough, I'm reading a book about the Julian Calendar (and the history of timekeeping in general). It's quite good, although getting a wee bit bogged down in the mechanics of a water clock for my liking.
