I thought it was an Most controversial is the Friday arrangements - Government workers will be doing Mon - Thu with a half day on Friday morning, finishing at noon. That means Friday prayers have been fixed for just after one o'clock rather than moving through the year with the sun. Sharjah, which is the most conservative Emirate, have said "nup" to that and they're going for a four day week with a full day off on Friday. And all this is only law for Government workers, private companies don't have to change but "it is expected that most will". And some are, some aren't and some are just going for a 'normal' Mon-Fri work pattern. But this is just normal when rules change here, there's a settling in period while everyone figures out how the new rules are actually being applied. And of course, the biggest question is still unanswered until next week - what happens to Friday brunches? Oh, and 9/10 for Monday, getting Bond wrong yet again.
