Incidentally, on a recent retreat to Malta, I visited a charming church in the village of Mellieha. They had a small museum devoted to the visit of the Pope some 30 years ago. The caption of one of the photos read something like "John Paul II, Randan, Malta". I was shocked that His Holiness would engage in such activities until I looked up a dictionary to find that Randan is actually the Maltese word for Lent. If that nugget ever comes up in a quiz, you're welcome. Apologies also to @pleslie99 for my mistake. You have now been promoted, and @Ziggy has been relegated AND sent to the naughty step for not pointing out he was in the wrong league. Anyway, let's look at the league tables. Good luck to @SlipperyP sorting out this mess... In the Premiershit, Alang1993 and Salvo are tied for 1st place and are in the play-off. Kincardine is down ... it was incredibly close between the other teams, but thanks to The Rules That I Can't Be Arsed Repeating, Christophe is down and Helpma is in the play-offs. It's a similar story in the SWL, with FIVE (5) teams vying for 1st place. "Quiz Difference" rules dictate that MixuFixit and Leeds Saint must play-off for the medal but both are promoted, while Adamski sneaks into the play-offs. At the other end, Scotfree is on sabbatical, CaspianChris is down, and pleslie99 is hoping I don't make it 2 fuckups out of 2 with his play-off. The BHL BWV league is looking positively engorged these days. Deej has finally managed to get promotion, about a month after his triumphant return. Up goes Moomintroll in his first season in charge, and The Gods are smiling The God is smiling upon the Cardinal as I'm in the play-offs. And this week's wooden spoon goes to another league debutante, @8MileBU who probably wouldn't have received it had he bothered to do the last 2 days' quizzes. A salutary lesson to us all.
