6 for Wednesday wtf are logs?

Well without posting the obvious, were they not invented by a Scot, John Napier?

I'm sure @mathematics can enlighten us further. Although I'm pretty sure he's got maths questions wrong because it was the "wrong kind of maths". Helpma had a previous issue with organic / inorganic chemistry.

I thought your boss invented them when he made the world, I'm sure it was day 3 of creation.

If @mathematics gets it wrong he should consider changing his user name.

b*****d. The bloody "Atomium" - whatever it is - diddles me out of a 2nd 10 on the trot.
Number of errors in today's quiz: 2 (mis-spelling reservoir and putting the same answer in twice). This never happened at The Australian.

Apart an entry in the BWV table guess we’ll have to take it on trust that you scored 10 yesterday as there was no post advising us.

Now, the lack of mathematical knowledge on this board is almost as bad as my general knowledge. I'm surprised that you all have answered the prime number question correctly!

Logarithms are just the opposite of exponentials.

Do not read the below until you have done Wednesday's quiz, you filthy cheats.

Spoiler

So if y=xa, then a=logx(y).
