young_bairn
Would like to introduce P&B to our new addition to the family. 1461184153504.jpg Chocolate Lab Bella who we met for the first time tonight. 3 weeks old and due to come home on the 28th of May All I need now is a Barbour jacket and a Land Rover Awesome. Thought I'd contribute to this thread other than posting pictures. Puppy Training. How was it for you? Did you crate or not? We used a crate the day we brought mags home. We tried to make it a fun place with toys/treats etc but she wasn't a fan, but we stuck with it for her safety and toilet training. Few sleepless nights when we first got her home due to howling for her fam 😩 Although she wasn't a fan of the crate it definitely helped with toilet training as she never once went inside the crate. I was off work for a month when we brought her home so had her out the back every half an hour for the first week using heavy praise when she went outside. Still stood in quite a few puddles of pish in the kitchen mind. It was probably around 13/14 weeks mark she learnt only to go outside. Went to puppy classes which is great fun and chaos. A room full of mental pupps is as fun as it sounds. Worked on recall and socialising mostly. She's shite on the lead but great off it.

Years ago when my dog was being trained the woman doing the training said that it meant they weren't feeling great as they eat grass etc as a way to try and stop them from shitting themselves as it's harder to digest or something. To be honest it sounded like rubbish to me but I'm not a dog expert.

So possibly a digestive thing of some sort.
Deeboy
My old dog was epileptic and when he ate grass it was a sign he was away to take a fit.

They do it to try to make themselves sick, when they're feeling not well.

bennett
Oor wee Donatella chewin' the cud... Eating grass makes them sick and gets rid of anything that's upsetting their stomachs.
