superbigal
Because the European Community had turned into a completely different animal in the following 40+ years.Yes it has vastly improved in 40 years.Unfortunately the intelligence of the general public has not.
BigDoddyKane
The biggest problem with the EU imo is the lobbying by big business and that doesnt look like its going to get any better infact it looks like it will continue to get worse. At some point they have to address that and stop the current road they are on where its washington style politics. They cant allow these eu officals to move to big business and then back again even at times to eu like they have done over last 20 years Edited July 11, 2022 by BigDoddyKane
Salt n Vinegar
We are now in danger of finding ourselves completely through the looking glass. The National is saying that the great 18th century stick insect, Rees-Mogg, might enter the race. Getting closer and closer to upper class twit of the year time.

In exactly the same way, the UK has turned into a totally different animal since 2014. In 2014, for instance, the UK was still a member of the EU, and didn't regularly attempt to breach international law or unilaterally amend international treaties that it had signed only months earlier. Try again.

Showing your inferiority complex, I’m afraid. Who cares how someone talks or what they wear or, indeed looks slim? -

Have you forgotten that both you and your dreadful wife "hate" women commentating on sports? Not true. We both loved Sue Barker. As I explained to you on multiple occasions, the word ‘hate’ was used in the context of ‘hating brocolli’, hating sci- fi films, etc.etc.etc., You are obviously just too thick to understand nuances within the English language. Ill repeat it again. Neither of us like women commentating or pontificating on ‘men only soccer’. Just our preference.

There's now an effective border between GB & NI. That's a pretty fundamental change to the UK. 2) The EU accepts democratic votes to leave, whilst the UK forbids holding similar democratic votes in Scotland. 3) The UK has the undemocratic House of Lords. Compared with that anachronism, the EU is a beacon of democracy.

It won't be a long-lasting, fundamental change. 2- What? There was a PartiRef in 2014. 3- The EU is undemocratic to the core. It's actions prove this. I agree the House of Lords is undemocratic though.. to an extent anyway. -

The division exists. Holding a referendum won't make the country divided, it is divided and has been for years. A consequence of that division is that a second referendum is inevitable and necessary. Yes, but once a generation. Otherwise every 8 years or so, let's vote on it again. And again ZZZ,,,,

The Tories, however, want to renege upon international treaties that they signed only a matter of months ago. Disgraceful & duplicitous behaviour. 2) Did you miss Boris Johnson forbidding Indyref 2 in the last week or so? Do keep up. 3) Does the EU appoint parliamentarians on a hereditary basis? Does the EU allow religious organisations to directly appoint parliamentarians? Please tell me why you consider the EU to be undemocratic to the core, with specific reference to their electoral practices.
