The notion that somehow oil money has created a utopia in the UAE, where the overwhelming proceeds of their oil extraction has helped to finance expensive developments of cities with residential property accessible mostly to people who watch a promotional video featuring Michael Owen in a fake helicopter, but that Scotland has somehow not benefited from the discovery and extraction of oil from the North Sea is obviously absurd.
