Taxidermy Looks Easy

That last image reminds me of a time (2003?) when I went to a day-long conference at the leather technology centre in Northampton. There was a session on conserving and restoring old items made from animal skins.

I was there with another researcher (also from Falkirk) and a woman stood up to give a talk about her work on muffs. For 20 minutes she went on about things like "muff treatment", "carefully putting the muff back together", "gently rubbing the muff with a cotton bud dipped in isopropanol" and so on.

We were sat trying our very hardest not to burst out laughing. Holding it in made it worse, we both were sat with tears going down our faces trying to hold it in.
