HibeeJibee
Match 1: Gibraltar 0-0 Slovakia Friendly (at Faro, Portugal) History made tonight as over 7,000 watched Gibraltar make their full international debut and get a highly respectable result, holding Slovakia to a goalless draw at the Stadium of the Algarve. (This is to host their home Euro 2016 qualifiers as 5000-seat Victoria Stadium doesn't meet all UEFA's criteria and their new stadium won't be ready for a couple of years). Very commendable opening result. They next host the Faroe Islands and Estonia in Gibraltar in March, then play a return game v Estonia at the end of the season. They've a few OK players... Danny Higginbotham formerly of Manchester United and many other English clubs, now Chester; Scott Wiseman of Barnsley; Liam Walker who played about 30 games for Portsmouth last season, now playing in the Spanish 4th tier. Rest of squad Gibraltar-based bar someone at Farsley. Edited November 19, 2013 by HibeeJibee

AMMjag
Do Gibraltar start at the very bottom of the rankings?
NorthernLights
Do Gibraltar start at the very bottom of the rankings? The question I have is do they even get to be in the rankings? As far as I'm aware they are only members of UEFA and not FIFA.
HibeeJibee
They won't be in rankings, as with e.g. Guadeloupe, Zanzibar, etc.
lanky_ffc
Should have asked their mates Spain if they would let them use a stadium.

7-2
Rest of squad Gibraltar-based bar someone at Farsley. I think 'Rest of Gibraltar squad based in bar somewhere in Farsley' would be nearer the truth.

Swampy
They won't be in rankings, as with e.g. Guadeloupe, Zanzibar, etc. I remember a few weeks ago you were saying Scotland shout set up a friendly with them to boost our rankings. You disappeared from that thread pretty quickly.
