HibeeJibee
Gibraltar have confirmed that their remaining qualifiers shall take place in Faro, after "resolving" issues with the Portuguese authorities. In a further blow to their ability to field professionals, Liam Walker - previously of Portsmouth - has returned to the Rock and signed for local club Lincoln, having earlier been released from Israeli side Bnei Yehuda. This follows the retiral of Danny Higginbotham and David Artell moving to Bala Town as a part-timer. There have been some positive results for their youth teams recently... After 5-0 and 4-0 defeats in U17 qualifying, they rounded-off their campaign with a 0-0 draw v Faroe Islands. This was a considerable improvement on the previous season's 3 results (4-1, 8-0 and 2-1 losses). Their U19s face Switzerland, Eire & Malta next week. Last year they lost 7-0, 3-0 & 7-0 in a tough group, having gone down 6-0 v Bulgaria in a pre-tournament warm-up. However, earlier this year they encouragingly drew 2-2 v Hungary. Swarley
Bugger, was hoping they'd be in London. You could still go to London then watch the game on tv?
HibeeJibee
Heartening result for them tonight stemming things to 4-0 away to the World Champions, and only conceding an own goal during the second half. BBC saying Germany had 84% possession, 20 corners and 36 shots ... ... on the otherhand Gibraltar managed 2 corners, and 2 shots-on-target, with Germany only turning their domination into 7 shots-on-target .

That still sounds better than us against the Czechs under Avril.
HibeeJibee
Still no competitive goal for Gibraltar but I'm sure it will come at some point. Ro Sham Bo
Moral victory! Loew was not impressed by the German performance. They don't seem to have got going since the World Cup. Next up for Gibraltar, the scourge of the minnows - Scotland!!
Blootoon87
See if Scotland are winning by 3 or 4, I wouldn't mind seeing Gibraltar score.
Ro Sham Bo
It'll be a nervy one or two goal win. It's the Scotland way.
Killiesquirrel
It'll be a nervy one or two goal win. It's the Scotland way. Surely Scotland will be within at least 1? Can't see Gibraltar winning by 2.

st jude
A lot of the coaching staff and officials were living in a fairy tale land in terms of being "confident" of getting a "few" points off of ROI and Georgia and the manager being under pressure after four games
1320Lichtie
A lot of the coaching staff and officials were living in a fairy tale land in terms of being "confident" of getting a "few" points off of ROI and Georgia and the manager being under pressure after four games Was the manager being serious about them getting to the play offs? I think he was, which is worrying
HibeeJibee
I don't think he was being serious about finishing 3rd. However, I think they did expect to find things easier than they have. Having been following their fortunes on a few blogs and social media... there certainly was pressure on him after the first few internationals (despite to all outsiders the results seeming pretty creditable), and then again after the first few qualifiers with their heavy defeats. Having lived in a footballing bubble for so long, I think the soccer public of Gibraltar had developed considerably higher opinions about their capabilities than was realistic.
SharkSharkShark
Gibraltar side College Europa have a Equatoguinean midfieder named Charly who has been called up by Equatorial Guinea to the African Cup of Nations. Is this the first time a Gibraltar club has had a player called up to a major tournament? HibeeJibee
Is this for real, or another hoax like Gibraltar calling-up the Oldham manager ? I doubt a Gibraltar-based player has ever been called-up for anyone except Gibraltar themselves.
SharkSharkShark
Looks like it's actually the first Gib league player to be called into any NT other than Gib. https://twitter.com/nzalangmundial/status/547716548300128256
