HibeeJibee
That's a cracking result. Next 2 = Liechtenstein (H), Armenia (H). Promotion possible?
Bully Wee Villa
Nah. From what I saw it was very much backs to the wall with the keeper playing out of his skin. Wouldn't be amazed if they won another game, but would probably need ten or more points to qualify and that seems likely to be too many.
Donathan
2 goals in 5 minutes to turn the game on its head, Gibraltar 2-1 up with 25 mins left to play at home to Liechtenstein
The Naitch
Two wins on the bounce. Incredible!
HibeeJibee
Up to 2nd in section now! Unlikely as it seems a win over Armenia - who they've just beaten away - in next game would set-up a final day decider in FYR Macedonia for playoff and promotion. EDIT: Must say that while I don't agree with it having slots at the Euros, this sort of case is a huge plus-point to the new Nations League set-up. Previously the Gibraltars could - at best - have had half a chance of a result in 2 games every 2 years. These teams now have achievable goals and winnable games, without sacrificing the principle of everyone participating in Euro and WC qualifiers. Particularly satisfying to see as no overseas pros turn-out for Gibraltar now so it's all home-based players and English non-league ex-pats/etc. Edited October 16, 2018 by HibeeJibee
GNU_Linux
Update on this seasons going ons in everyones favourite rock (sorry Dumbarton) with one league game to go. In the Premier Lincoln Red Imps won the league with games to spare for title number 24 & UCL football. Europa FC fairly comfortably secured 2nd & Europa League football. At the bottom end Lions Gibraltar & Boca Gibraltar are well adrift and thus both at best can finish 9th & take part in relegation playoff. Lions are two points ahead going into the last matchday. The season has been marred with betting scandals thats saw individuals both players & coaching stuff from several clubs suspended & banned for various lengths (see below for links). https://www.gbc.gi/news/gfa-suspends-four-players-and-coach-breaching-betting-rules http://chronicle.gi/2018/11/football-coach-player-found-guilty-breaches-betting-rule/ https://www.gibraltarfa.com/news/6-players-guilty-of-breaching-the-gfas-betting-rules-33 https://www.gibraltarfa.com/news/4-players-a-coach-guilty-of-breaching-the-gfas-betting-rules-39 Back on the pitch in the 2nd division with 2 or 3 to play (odd number of 7 this season) Bruno's Magpies lead the way four ahead of Manchester 62 with Europa Point five behind top spot & Olympique seven behind the top. Theres a clear gulf in the league as 5th place Leo are 21 points off of 4th. In cup matters the Rock Cup final is between Europa & Gibraltar United at end of this month. If Europa win 3rd in league St. Josephs will get the final Europa League spot. For Gibraltar United it's a chance at European Football for the first ever time. The Second Division Cup returned this season where Bruno's Magpies saw off Olympique 13 2-1 in March. Youth football saw an overhaul with the reserves & u18s being merged to form the new u23 intermediate league. 10 clubs signed up but two have withdrawn. Lincoln Red Imps lead the way by 6 points. The intermediate league also has a knockout cup in which Mons Calpe beat Manchester 62 4-2 in January's final.
