He seems intent on pursuing a career in Portugal, even if things don't appear like they're going to work out at Sporting. It would have been easy enough to seek a loan closer to home if he really thought his chance over there was gone; a move to the Championship/League One in England, or back to a Scottish club. But this will be his third loan move in Portugal, so clearly he feels that he suits the game over there.

Will just need to hope he stars in the Segunda and see where it goes from there.

For all the whines about how he's being wronged, maybe he doesn't feel the same.  He clearly enjoys life in Portugal, and I doubt he's seeing continuing to experience that life as being as doom and gloom as some here.

And maybe, just maybe, he isn't quite as good as he was originally hyped up to be.  And that's fine.  Good luck to the boy, he's living a far better life than he would be at any club in Scotland.

.....and what’s that based on? The same assumption that we are all speculating with, just with an alternative twist.

It's based on him making it pretty clear he wants to stay in Portugal.  I'd take his view over anyone saying "och, just come back hame, pal"

He turned down the oppertunity to come back to Scotland to stay where he is, which definitely says something for either 1) how determined he is to make it work there or 2) how much he's enjoying his life there. Or possibly ( probably is the more likely term ) both.

Either way, fair play to him.

So apparently he was taken off at half time on his Farense debut. They lost 2-0.

Mince-mageddon.

Not long after they went down to 10 men. Tactical decision which maybe epitomises the problem he's had in Portugal - he's perhaps seen as a bit of a luxury player.

I'm not sure it epitomises anything except the kind of sub that is made when a defender gets sent off. The no10 is normally the player to make way.

Glad to see he is finally getting some game time, was worried he wouldn't even make it at that level.
