Bitcoin/cryptocurrency thread

Does anybody in this thread have an urge to buy USD Stable Coins or Bitcoin/ Ethereum at this point in time to hedge against the drop in GBP?

I know the majority feeling in this thread is negative towards digital assets (since it got moved to General Nonsense) but doesn't even 1% of your body feel like you should hedge?

Were I fortunate enough to be sitting on large sums of liquid cash in GBP I'd probably want to diversify but I still don't see why I'd buy a USD stable coin instead of USD itself.

It would be like buying casino tokens for a casino I don't fancy playing in

Kim Kardashian has been charged by the US Securities and Exchange Commission for advertising EthereumMax on her Instagram page.

The reality-TV star had received $250,000 (£223,000) for advertising the cryptocurrency, without disclosing she had been paid to do so, the SEC said.

Ms Kardashian has agreed to pay $1.26m in penalties.

She has also agreed not to promote any crypto asset securities for three years.

With exchange/swap fees along with the usual ETH gas tax I doubt will be that successful a hedge. Worth digging though.

Anyone still investing in crypto?  I am minus 8k in total and not sure that it makes much sense to spend money on crypto market.

Would like to hear some different opinions

There are 2 narratives just now-

1. All financial markets are behaving erratically just now. How can you predict what is going to happen?

2. Historically the Bitcoin Bottom has been around the Bitcoin top of the previous cycle. Is it a better opportunity to buy now than a year ago?

I'm slowly moving from USDC back into ETH, LINK and BTC but I wouldn't advise anyone to copy me.

I used to be very negative about bitcoin and cryptocurrency because I didn't quite understand them

That's the scam, invent a load of jargon to persuade people it's complicated and you have to take the advice from clever people if you don't want to be left behind while they make millions, mostly from mugs like you.

I see Reddit Avatars are now trading at high Prices. One avatar sold for 24,000 USD (18 ETH)

It is funny how simple rebranding (not calling them NFTS) makes people feel more comfortable.

Damn, I hate it how people getting lucky always makes me feel like a loser. These Avatar guys must really know how to promote their shit!

If you were waiting for a dip, Now's your time

The Binance exchange has just killed rival FTX by the somewhat risky method of pointing out that many of FTX's assets were in it's own coin and weren't really worth anything creating a run on the exchange

That's the simplified version. The full story will be a book

I am reading that people are selling their FTX deposits for 5 cents on the dollar, madness.
