It is if the motive was purely to support the political campaigns then yes but he was doing it in such a way that he could benefit from whoever got in power (probably why he 'hid' the Republican funding)

My post wasn't related to him at all though, it was related to the apparent not uncommon practice of donating to both sides.

And political funding doesn't necessarily get used entirely for political campaigning

If you give the republican and democrat candidates a million dollar each it might not have any overall effect on the campaign result but both candidates will probably end up driving fancier cars

First of all, I was not being entirely serious but anyway -

If you are influencing both sides isn't that pretty much balancing the influence out so in effect nullifying it?

Well, one of those sides is going to lose, so there isn't much balancing of influence in that direction.

The subject is rather like someone who votes for an honest, upright, progressive political party here,

but places a bet on the Conservatives, or Labour, to win.

You know how get a swat team booting your door down if your taxes are 50p out? Here's a guy who ran the biggest ponzi scheme in history being interviewed on morning television:
oops!

It wasn't a Ponzi scheme though.

There massive crime is an Unregulated offshore bank decided to steal 8 billion dollars of customers funds to gamble with.

BTW watching the full Morning TV interview is worthwhile, he acts like some sort of lizard person when he is struggling to answer questions.

Case closed

I mean the whole FTX debacle should be an open goal for crypto detractors, the nature of its downfall has been well explained in numerous places. Instead you're Iwelumoing it with this Ponzi nonsense.

Promising unfeasible rates of return, Using new Investors money to fund payouts to old investors by buying back and burning their FTT tokens, exponential unsustainable growth and fingers in the till on a massive scale.

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck , walks like a duck and quacks like a duck than it's probably a duck

Admittedly the possibility remains that it's actually a "Teal" as opposed to a "Duck" but you can use all the same recipes
