Bobby Skidmarks
Willing to give Hughes a chance, although it's a complete anti-climax I wasn't that excited when Butcher arrived either. Getting rid of Stokes He made Hibs £700,000 in one season buying and selling him. "Getting rid" ....Fucks sake.
Albino Rover
The last 4 years in the life of a Hibs fan: 2009- "Scraping the top 6 isn't good enough. Mixu has ruined this club. We need someone like John Hughes to come and sort things out." 2010- "Hughes did brilliantly last season but we've had a month and a half of poor form and he has had enough time. He's ruined this club. We need someone like Colin Calderwood to come and sort things out." 2011- "Appointing Calderwood was a huge mistake. He has completely ruined this club. We need someone like Pat Fenlon to come and sort things out." 2013- "After making steady progress and improving our league position, as well as making two cup finals, Fenlon has ruined this club. We need someone like Terry Butcher to come and sort things out." Who will get it right?
Zing.
2010- "Hughes did brilliantly last season but we've had a month and a half of poor form and he has had enough time. He's ruined this club. Calderwood, Fenlon and Hughes were only taking us one way.
Dunning1874
 His last job in Scotland was Livingston where he wasn't great, and Gareth Evans did a better job in the short time he had after replacing him. We probably will end up with a far worse manager than Hughes anyway, but I'd have put his stature now as a bog-standard second tier manager; while he wouldn't be the worst appointment a Championship club can make, they could all hope for better and I'm surprised that he'd even be mentioned for a Premiership job, never mind get one with the club who are second in the league. Of course Butcher's reputation had taken a bit of a knock prior to joining ICT and it worked out brilliantly so it's entirely possible the same could happen with Hughes, but he's still entirely living off his time at Falkirk. He undeniably did a great job there, but he hasn't achieved anything in the three jobs he's had since and everything suggests that he's a manager on the decline. SodjesSixteenIncher
Most Hibs managers in recent years last less than that, especially when they have messed up your club from top to bottom. Our last one did. I remember the fans singing his name in support at 0-0 v Celtic a few weeks ago. What a terrifically supportive and patient bunch we are Mind you Fenlon's a much better manager than Hughes, so it's not a fair comparison. Granny Danger
Two questions: 1. What were the odds on Hughes getting the job? 2. How much did Kenny Cameron bet on Hughes getting the job? From a personal point of view I'm looking forward to Yogi's post-match interviews; alaways enjoyed them on the drive back from the game.
Albino Rover
Listen to yourselves! Hibs finished 4th in the SPL and 3 years later you can only concentrate on the negatives. I know 09/10 season finished with a run of bad results, but after losing players having to rebuild his squad Hughes was sacked a month and a half into the following season. Frankly that's nowhere near enough time to give a squad to gel, especially under a boss who's already proven he can achieve success.

We take a club above us in the league's manager and they appoint a terrible one in his place? I reckon I'll take this news tbh.

Honest Saints Fan
Heard the stumbling block with Hartley is that he wanted to commute from the centrl belt which Inverness were not happy about. Hughes is second choice.
