The Derry
5 hours ago, Andreas12 said: Grantown on Spey. What an absolute hole of a town. Dont get me wrong, im sure there are some great people there, but boy boy does it have wild youths. My sister stayed for a week in the town in February and witnessed abusive shouting (Seemingly random, directed at her though, they did not know who she was), she is 55, and was called a slut by a youth. At night the place is apparently a no go zone in the centre of town, they were not sure if the youths were homeless or not (Is there homelessness in the Highlands?), but a number of them were on drugs on at least two occasions when she was out. Because she was staying in the town, her group spent quite of time in the centre. She was speaking with a local manager of a hotel and they have had eggs on their windows, guests complain about the youths behaviour and more. So you may think its all fine in the Scottish Highlands but its not all that! We stayed at a hotel there two years ago for one night, although the pub was really, really rough in the High Street with some real characters that I can only remember from my younger years, people that you only knew their nicknames and not real names, it was great craic, but there are fights regularly there, a couple told us when we were in. Weird, your sister loves when I call her a slut.
welshbairn
Anyway, Grantown's like San Francisco compared to Huntly.
Thorongil
Kilmarnock is awful. I was in Airdrie last week for the first time in ages and what a fucking state. The entire Irvine Valley - Galston, Newmilns and Darvel should shame East Ayrshire Council for all time. Ayr is an absolute hovel compared to what is should be like. It should be like Perth of Inverness. At times I despair of the lack of ambition of my fellow residents of Scotland and what they are willing to accept.

That's what they're willing to accept.

Muirkirk, Drongan, Patna, New Cumnock and Auchinleck. All of the usual social problems associated with post-industrial Scotland coupled with how geographically isolated they are. Grim.

Auchinleck has no such excuse though to be fair to it there are signs of gradual improvement. For Ayrshire overall though, the lack of ambition in terms of leadership is just astounding.

TheScarf
Grantown is the most inoffensive place in Scotland. I know a few boys from there and they're all those mountain biking/kayaking/outdoor sports types who are about as hard or dangerous as my shite is on New Years Day.
Barry Ferguson's Hat
When New Year's Day comes around and I find myself hunched on the pan curling out a loud, offensive shite with more than a hint of egg to it, I'll be sure to christen it 'The Grantown Youth'.

Can you please explain further why you are criticising a whole county? I'll give you a hand;- lack of ambition in what kind of leadership.
