If he started out there or not, fact is he has played right across the back four for his teams. So Bardsley will play for Scotland again,be that centre back or full back.Is a guy that has the pace to actually be in there.Just not the natural athlete that Hutton is,or else he would probably be involved now.

is it not the case that we have never finished lower than third in a qualifying group?

so unless we beat croatia and serbia lose to macedonia with a swing of 9 goals this will be the worst performing scotland team ever.

We finished 4th in our group in the 1994 World Cup qualifying, and that was with a weaker UEFA than we have now - USSR, Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia all competed as single entities.

Doesn't look a million miles away from where we could finish if we scrape a win on Tuesday

Mackie has pace decent player good a lot of goals for QPR in the championship before injury

I agree, he always looks right up for a battle too when he's played for us, but I just don't see him as the long term answer - certainly not the one I want to lead the line in the Euro 16 quals.

Clearly he is not the answer, but it would be nice if he was getting Premiership football with Forest.

Can play on the right wing as well, would be natural competition for Snodgrass

Mackie is strong to hard to knock of the ball and has decent delivery

Wonder how far away big May is from a call up,done really well and is on form.

Well some gimps on here claimed he should never play for Scotland u21s again cos he was in the team that got thrashed off England?!?

Early days yet, but he looks like a prospect - seems to have a good attitude to the game and can bully defenders. Might be worth having him in the squad for the Nov friendlies, even just so Strachan can get a closer look at him.

Another homer Simpson moment from myself, though Ally scored and then got injured?

I like May he is a good player you do not score and beat Rosenberg if your not.

As for the thrashing pretty sure that was nowhere near our strongest squad.

Look how many of the championship boys who never played in it.

Guys like McCabe and Allan and so on

Only Feruz,Fyfie,Archer, were involved from down south I think

OK we would still have lost if we had played a stronger team

We were up against full internationals after all,in Shelvey, and that Jamaican at Liverpool
