an86 Posted September 11, 2013 Share Posted September 11, 2013 If the Sevconians didn't think the Rangers had died, they'd be laughing this off. The fact that they are foaming at the mouth says it all. They know that Rangers died, we know that Rangers died, they know that we know that they know that Rangers died. It hurts them so badly that they have to lash out at anybody who dares to speak the truth. A horrible football club who hopefully go the same way as Rangers. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It hurts them so badly that they have to lash out at anybody who dares to speak the truth. A horrible football club who hopefully go the same way as Rangers. Precisely this. Anyone with a smidgen of class would have ignored this and done nothing. You can't allow for all of your fans, some foam at the mouth is expected, but we have to wonder what the role of newclub has been in this. They actively promote the seethe and should be punished for it. Although it must be difficult when the very existence of the new club brings the game into disrepute. This debate is not however about the old/new/onborrowedtime/blue club, dead or not dead issue. It is whether a respected and established broadcaster is allowed to quote an opinion. One that many agree with and certainly is neither fringe, extreme or controversial. It just really, really hurts 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Fife Saint Posted September 11, 2013 Share Posted September 11, 2013 (edited) walk into a bank and tell them you want to open an account for your football team and see what happens.Nonsense, every bank has bank accounts for clubs, societies or unincorporated bodies. These clubs have a committee and a constitution. Rangers didn't. They operated as a plc with a board and the full shooting match.This is why Jim Spence was absolutely correct in what he said. Fife Saint Posted September 11, 2013 Share Posted September 11, 2013 what do you think a football club is? green bought the 'intellectual property rights and brand' which includes the intangible concept of the club. This is the very fulcrum of the discussion. Nailed. An intangible concept. The discussion will never be amicably settled. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
LongTimeLurker Posted September 11, 2013 Share Posted September 11, 2013 No, you were RFC, now TRFC(changed from sevco), who's operating company is RIFC. The name of the club has always been The Rangers Football Club. The longer form of the name was used quite frequently up to the 1960s. Can remember seeing it a lot in old programmes as a kid. It's comic that people in the media know so little about the history of Scottish footballe that some of them latched onto it thinking it was some sort of evidence of a new club being formed, when the reality was that it was very much the reverse. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
ecto Posted September 11, 2013 Share Posted September 11, 2013 I think Rangers and their supporters should "grow a pair" and just be happy they still have a club, what this is about is utter garbage, in the main created by people who have far to much time on their hands 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
DA Baracus Posted September 11, 2013 Share Posted September 11, 2013 (edited) We have always been called the Rangers. Yet in your signature there is clearly a picture of the outside of Ibrox on which is written 'Rangers F.C.'. Not 'The Rangers F.C.'. Also Sevco fans seem to think they know a lot about 'their' history, so you would have thought that they would have reflected their club's name in their songs if their club was always 'The Rangers'. And once again, Jim Spence didn't say that Rangers died or whatever; he said that some people hold that opinion. The fact that Sevco fans can't grasp this shows them to the thick scum everyone knows they are. And even if Spence DID say that, which he did not, why does that justify threats and insults? To summarise; man is abused for something he didn't even say, and even if he did say it, which he didn't, it's not even close to get annoyed about let alone threatening someone about. f**k you Sevco, and f**k your vile fanbase and sycophants in the media. You too Celtic. Edited September 11, 2013 by DA Baracus -1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
thenolly Posted September 11, 2013 Share Posted September 11, 2013 sadly not. i just think it's strange that some people won't acknowledge the truth despite everything being very simple to understand now. rangers were kicked out the spl, WRONG joined the 3rd division, have been embarrassed on the field on numerous occasions to a previously unimaginable extent and are currently being robbed blind by a bunch of crooks who have stolen millions from the club and fans (via the share issue). there is enough material for schadenfreude without resorting to making things up. Everything else is right Rangers were not kicked out the SPL they died the new club (Get it up ya Traynor I'm wi Spencie here) applied to get back in the SPL and leapfrog 3 divisions, rightly they were told no 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Fife Saint Posted September 11, 2013 Share Posted September 11, 2013 The whole Rangers or The Rangers thing is a red herring too. It's a colloquial term given to the full title of the body, it has zero relevance to the key discussion. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
DA Baracus Posted September 11, 2013 Share Posted September 11, 2013 Sevco fans, explain why you used to have the attitude of 'no one likes us, we don't care' when the exact opposite is true, i.e. you all care deeply and throw a stupidity fueled tantrum every single time someone says something that can be construed as negative, even when the person never said it. You know, like Jim Spence, who never said that Rangers died. Also you used to call Celtic fans paranoid and say that they got offended over the slightest thing (although both are true); you having some fucking nerve to say that now, you c***s. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Mark Connolly Posted September 11, 2013 Share Posted September 11, 2013 What were HMRC blethering about then? "A liquidation provides the best opportunity to protect taxpayers, by allowing the potential investigation and pursuit of possible claims against those responsible for the company’s financial affairs in recent years. A CVA would restrict the scope of such action. Moreover the liquidation route does not prejudice the proposed sale of the club. This sale can take place either through a CVA or a liquidation. So the sale is not being undermined, it simply takes a different route. Liquidation will enable a sale of the football assets to be made to a new company, thereby ensuring that football will continue at Ibrox. It also means that the new company will be free from claims or litigation in a way which would not be achievable with a CVA. Rangers can make a fresh start." When HMRC said Rangers can make a fresh start, did they actually mean they can continue with unbroken history? 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

~~~ Posted September 11, 2013 Share Posted September 11, 2013 Didn't Rangers International buy the history and honours from the original Rangers? No, that was Charles Green apparently http://youtu.be/0k0IkDTPQWU But of course him and everyone just happened to be wrong before the CVA failed 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
