How are the centre backs looking?

That pair along with the three lads at Bayern, Liverpool and Reading are hopefully the future.

Who's at Bayern?

All youth teams in this country aren't coached properly

What they should do is sack Gemmill and make him under 19s coach.  The under 19s coach could then be under 21s coach.

And if that doesn't work just swap them back and Hey, Presto!

Hornby should be booked for the amount of times he’s been offside.

He was hopeless. Hopefully he gets plenty of game time in the Championship with Everton next season.

I thought his link-up play was pretty decent in the first half, but yeah, he was constantly offside in the second.

I was among 1,084 hardy or idiotic souls who took in this dead loss tonight.Lithuania are a limited and naive side but we were languid. How can you win in Croatia then turn out this result?

First half we'd control of the game and forced a few good saves from their 'keeper... but we were hardly cruising along, and the pace of play was far from full-tempo and frustratingly one-dimensional (had they decided to forego the wings as a test?). Expected a reaction for second half but we went backward - Lithuania had much more of the ball. Hornby was terrible after 1hr. "Blunt weapons" etc.

I know it's easy to caricature Gemmell's demeanour but in the flesh he really did look to all intents lost, impassive and bewildered. At one point the doctor/physio was doing shouts for him.

It's the fact that they have no idea other than lump the ball to Bruce Hornsby, or at least get the wee Chelsea midfielder to lump the ball to Bruce Hornsby.

It's a shame we hadn't witnessed how Gemmill sets up youth sides before to see how he'll help set up youth teams.

That Toulon Tournament under Gemmill was embarrassing, just hoof after hoof to Burke. Sounds like all we've down is translate that to the hoof after hoof to Hornby.

I'm still convinced he'll be the next Scotland manager, because SFA.

I thought Scotland u21s passed the ball about well last night and all the players looked comfortable in possession. They were just missing a creative spark in the final third.

Met the U21 squad in the airport tonight. Malky Mckay, Scotland Gemmil and Peter Houston sitting in Caledonian Bar is not what I expected to see when I set out.

Who’s our most exciting uncapped player? Is it still Ryan Gauld?

Much better second half from the boys. Belarus taking an absolute pasting from Germany puts us in a great position to qualify for the elite round as well barring a major capitulation on Tuesday.
