Aye, close but no cigar!!

Just out of interest, would a run in the Europa have prevented the level of cash flow problems that ended up arising??

We probably would have made at least £3million had we progressed, so possibly, but perhaps it only would have been delaying the inevitable.

Liverpool were there for the beating.

The way some Hearts fans go on about that game is embarrassing. It does, though, emphasize the stature of Heart of Midlothian football club. Big team right enough.

You failed to defeat a poor Liverpool side, and subsequently were knocked out of the competition.

It's not something Hearts fans should be proud about, but rather something to be disappointed about.

Liverpool were camped in Hearts' half, and didn't step out of first gear. This applies for both legs.

The euphoria from Hearts fans would be a bit more justified if Liverpool actually took the tie seriously.

I suppose it would have been better if we lost 9-0 to Malmo, Forever Hibs/Big Rob.

Drawing at Anfield is a result Hibs can only dream about these days, champ.

No really but

We were one goal away...

Hard to tell if you are being serious.

Taking the lead at Anfield was sensational. Getting put out by a late goal from a player valued at £55 million is nothing to be ashamed about.

Getting excited about drawing wi a poor liverpool side

Erm, the value of just two of Liverpool's players that night - Gerrard and Suarez - could probably buy and sell all of Scottish football several times over. In the modern day, it was an excellent result, especially as it was quite a youthful Hearts line-up.

typical hearts wi there brilliant European record...lol Have hearts beaten any half decent team over 2 legs? And dinae even bother mentioning braga, im talking about teams that have won domestic trophys.

Well let's just see: for the past decade Braga have competed with Porto, Benfica and Sporting Lisbon at the top of the Portuguese League, have won the odd domestic cup and have been in the Champions League group stage twice as well as the final of the Europa League. Unlucky.

For a Scottish team which isn't Celtic or Rangers to knock them out of Europe comfortably, while also becoming the first Scottish and British club to reach the UEFA Cup/Europa League group stage in the process, is a fantastic result, especially in recent times. Your shan opinion here is therefore irrelevant.

Some of the clubs that Hearts have knocked out of Europe include: Valerenga, Lokomotive Leipzig, Austria Vienna, Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk and Slavia Prague. We have also recorded victories against clubs like: Standard Liege, Bayern Munich (UEFA Cup quarter-final), Bologna, Atletico Madrid, Stuttgart, Bordeaux, Basel (UEFA Cup group stage) and Dinamo Zagreb. Generally in Europe Hearts have beaten the teams we are/were expected to beat and lost to the teams we are/were expected to lose to. We have also never suffered any truly embarrassing defeats like many other clubs.

We don't have the same European record as Aberdeen or Dundee United and nor do we claim to, but we still have a pedigree in Europe that is far better than, for example, many large clubs in England. Hearts have also played considerably more European matches in the past quarter of a century than any other non Old Firm club in Scotland.

In the second video clip, the guy's cheer is brilliant and is what football is all about.

We've all had the feeling of utter disbelief, joy then sudden belief that something big could really happen all in the space of about 3 seconds. It's what make us go back and keep supporting our shitey, useless teams.

Spot on.

Hertz have the 10th best % of gmes played to games won in Scotland(from hertz London site lol). And I said over 2 legs did u beat bayern over 2 legs.typical heartz false delusions

0/10.

Go back and slowly re-read the above, if you can actually read that is.

Hearts may well have the tenth best ratio of percentage of games played to games won, but that really isn't surprising given there will be some Scottish clubs who have played far less matches than we have but have done alright in that short spell(s) in Europe.

You're a cretin. A massive one.
