Contrary to popular belief, the HP you seen on IT hardware stands for Huge Penis and not Hewlett Packard.

i'm currently having issues with my HP, thought the issue was a nasty virus

Initially it was Jon Anderson, the vocalist for prog-rockers Yes, who wore the cape. But being only 5' 5" he kept standing on the hem and falling over. Rick Wakeman went on to make the cape his own and still wears it to this day. Except if he's using public transport.

In the 1950s various makers of mushy peas got together in Lancashire to strategise about the success of Forfar Bridies locally and how they were cutting into profits. They come up with a cunning plan to claim that Forfar was home to all kinds of satanic witchcraft and Bridies were made out of brides. This worked well and several local councils went so far as to ban the said delicacy from their shops. The war on Forfar continues to this day with both Manchester and Liverpool clubs never having sold a half and half scarf with the name of Forfar Athletic on one side.

Forfar Bridies

Originally known as Bridles, local farm labourers would place their Bridle in a canvas pouch attached to the leather work at the farm horses head to keep the savoury delicacy warm until lunch. McLaren's, a local bakery, added it to their menu but a typo changed culinary history.

Saddlers, the rival town baker, would have known better.

Concorde could actually cross the Atlantic in an hour, and not the 3 hours advertised.  What the pilots did was circle around the New York/New Jersey airspace just taking turns at banking and shouting 'weeeeeeeeee' for 2 hours.

After Sheena Easton got him an invite to one of Frank McAvennie’s sex parties in the Glasgow Airport Marriott Prince became a big St Mirren fan

His song Paisley Park, after which he named his record label and studio, was going to be called “Love Street” until he realised that the Doors had got there first

After the commercial success of Lovesexy in 88 he was all set to invest in the club and the board were all set to abandon the famous black and white stripes for purple lamé but they drew the line at the stockings and suspenders so the deal fell through

Stan Laurel was born in Ulverston in Cumbria but spent a large part of his boyhood in South Shields. During this time he became a Sunderland fan and remained one even after he emigrated to the USA, as shown by this secret message in the Laurel and Hardy film 'Brats'.

During the First World War it was made illegal to decorate Christmas trees because, being a German tradition introduced by Queen Victoria's husband Prince Albert, it was seen as unpatriotic. This law has never been repealed, so technically anybody who decorates a Christmas tree even today is liable for a fine not exceeding thirty shillings.

Alex Ferguson in a Shoot magazine interview in 1978 stated that the greatest music group ever was The Rubettes.

Ferguson was having a nightmare of an interview and the journalist was just about to call a halt but decided to give it six more minutes.
