Fred Ottman, who was Tugboat/Typoon in the WWE, is a professional darts player to trade, having joined the PDC a couple of months ago.  He hasn't been on TV yet, he's just playing dark matches, getting ready for his TV debut next month at the World Championships.

Earthquake of earthquake/typhoon/natural disasters wwf fame. Chose his name, not purely to go with his tag team partner, but because he was actually conceived during an earthquake.

London Calling was originally written by Tiger Tim Stevens with the intention it would be sung by the Bay City Rollers. When they turned it down he gave it to the Clash.

It was originally called Kirkcaldy Calling and the Bay City Rollers did have go at it but it didn't really work for them.   When it was passed on to the Clash they had no idea where Kirkcaldy was so they changed it to London.

Clingfilm was invented by a scientist from Glasgow as a practical joke on his assistant - he put it over the top of the toilet bowl. However his assistant had the last laugh as he thought of using it to wrap food and made millions.

Rolling Stone magazine voted Rod Stewart's Ole ola the greatest rock song of the 70's decade.

That is not quite true.  It came second.  The winner was the jingle for the "Shake and Vac" advert.

Freddie Mercury was not pleased.  He had also written a jingle for the same product but the company said it was far too over-elaborate for a TV advert.

In the end, he change the lyrics a bit and released it as a single called "Bohemian Rhapsody".

A young Neil Lennon watched Crackerjack every Friday shouting Crackerjack every time they said Crackerjack.(Crackerjack). He would constantly write to them and enter competitions all in the hope of winning a Crackerjack pencil. (Crackerjack). Some intern at the Beeb had been out on the sauce and arrived at work quite hungover. She saw one of his letters and decided to make his day. By mistake, she sent him a Blue Peter badge (she was responsible for sending gifts for both shows in addition to finding very young children for the celebrities to violate). The young ginger was distraught when it arrived and he vowed one day to manage the club with the greatest fans in the world and get it right up the bowling club members that made up 97.3% of the supporters of ra peepel.

The rest is history.

Prior to Nicolaus Otto improving on the Lenoir engine by introducing a compression phase, internal combustion engines were so feeble that they were measured in Squirrelpower rather than Horsepower.

1 Squirrelpower was defined as the potential energy stored in the King’s favourite squirrel after it had climbed an oak tree powered by the energy of one acorn.
