Facts you made up

Irish rocker Phil Lynot was having late night swally with some mates and they were discussing unconventional birds you would pummel.  The telly coverage ended and on seeing the Queen of England, Phil stated that if she was skinnier he would let her ride his pony until one was amused. They teased him about him wanting to hit Thin Lizzy doggy style till her colour trooped. Several years later he was in a rock band and remembered this name and hence the group had a name (it is unclear if he found the late night anthem to be as stirring as soon he only stayed in posh hotel rooms with ceefax after the shows ended).

The people from the south part of Preston tend to support Blackpool as a protest at Preston North End’s name alienating their side of the city.

Though in the first year of their existence they were known as Preston East End FC but they hadn't thought through what would happen when the initials were embroidered on their shirts.

Until Brian Blessed beat him in an intense ‘cube off’ off set during the filming of Flash Gordon.
Max Van Sydow was so excited and pumped up by Blessed's ability under pressure that he went berserk and set Timothy Dalton's trailer on fire.

Dalton wrongly suspected Peter Duncan and started a vicious campaign of anonymous harrasment against him which only ended in 2016 when he finally learned the truth.

Dalton was then selected as bond as a result of being permanently raging as a result of this. Everything in the living daylights actually happened and they just filmed him doing everyday things.

BrIan Blessed had starred on "Stars in their eyes" twice.  On his first appearance he pretended to be Luciano Pavarotti.

However his second appearance pretending to be Kylie Minogue (singing "I should be so lucky") was much more fun.

Buckminster Fuller, erstwhile US architect, designer, theorist etc etc was given his unusual first name because his father was born in a small church in Buckie.

He had a twin brother called Buckfast who emigrated to the UK and went to live in a monastery.

Buckfast tonic wine was originally made by a former pirate who gave up his life of rape and pillage to work in a monastery.

Buckfast tonic wine is actually a contraction on Buckingham Palace Breakfast tonic wine.  Apparently the Queen doesn't like grapefruit juice.

The uniform of the original London Bobby was brown.
It was changed to dark blue due to the unfortunate link with some Scottish rhyming slang.
They also used to carry around a drum as the first police force came from a military background. It was completely counter productive to catching criminals though.
Hence the term bobbies on the beat.
