...Although i have absolutely no fucking clue what the rise of Skywalker and palps laugh has to do with it all

A film trailer form of click bait basically. Think they'll play it very safe on the plot in a way that keeps most people entertained and happy and provides scope for plenty of sequels, which means nothing too radical can happen to either Rey or Kylo, with the former probably leading a newly founded "Skywalker Order" of force-sensitives following the teachings of Luke by the end, and the latter weakened quite a bit but still head honcho of the First Order doing his ein reich, ein volk und ein fuehrer thing with a subtle hint here and there that there is some sort of Donald Trump parallel.

Have Disney been watching Series 8? If they have to write their own material they could be out of their depth on something like that. Best if they are paired up with someone like George RR Martin who can come up with a very good story for them to adapt

Martin started in Sci-Fi so he probably would make a decent fist of it, but he would probably have Luke and Leia shagging though!!!

Saw Star Wars in the pictures in 1977 and thought it was brilliant. I got hold of a dvd copy recently and lasted 5 minutes before deciding it was puerlie rubbish and switched it off. Empire Strikes Back is a vast improvement but the dialogue in the entire series leaves a helluva lot to be desired.

Visiting Anaheim next month and have tickets to visit Starwars Galaxies edge, cannot fucking wait to pilot the millennium falcon!

“Wait” is the one thing you are going to do, take sandwiches and perhaps a good book with you!!!

It’s ace. Don’t know if the cantina’s still operating the way it was during the limited section but worth checking when you go in. Turns out you had to register for a time slot to go in, we didn’t know this and they were all gone when we tried to go in.

We were only allowed access to that bit of the park for a certain period of time mind you so it’s maybe different now.

Would be interesting to find out if they always planned to bring the Emperor back for this one or it went a different direction after Carrie Fisher popped her clogs and it began to look questionable whether audiences had actually connected enough with the new characters to care sufficiently about a Rey vs Kylo finale to give them another huge pay day.

Make the hero too perfect too early and you kill a lot of the story telling possibilities, so the hint Rey's going to turn to the dark side looks like a desperate attempt to try to make her more interesting, but nothing like as desperate as bringing back Lando rather than using Maz Kanata.

I think The Last Jedi has put a lot of people into the "I don't really care anymore" category so they are bringing the Emperor back to get people interested again.

He'll probably possess one of the Knights of Ren, kill a couple of randoms and try to kill Rey who will dispatch him with literally zero effort and that will be that. Shell have to kill Kylo Ren, she won't, Disney wont want to kill either of them off so will leave that story arc open ended / ambiguous.

I also think Darth Rey is either a vision or she's a clone - and that's what that stupid force vision with all the Reys in the Sith pit last film was hinting at.

Desperate's a good description of that trailer.
