Scotland head to Namibia for a three way tournament with Nepal as the  world cricket league division 2 hots up

a clean sweep here would see Scotland take the title with 6 games to spare but Namibia are serious contenders so that might be a big ask

186/8 with 24 balls left

Looks like Scotland will be chasing about 200

You're doing a grand job on the croquet cricket updates, TC......like a lone voice in the wilderness........I admire your indefatigability.🏏

Brandon McMullen took a quick 3 wickets as we reduced them to 4/45 early and we were looking strong from there on in.

We may  yet have this tied up before the final round of fixtures

Being forced to move from Glasgow proper to an outlying town like  Motherwell on is pretty tin pot to begin with. It’s like Aberdeen FC attempting to move out of Aberdeen

in other News Scotland are making relatively short work of demolishing Nepal we need 77 from 37 overs

Namibia rallied and got revenge in the second match of the series

meaning we can’t officially tie the league up against Nepal on Thursday but we could  secure a minimum top 3 finish which puts us closer to World Cup qualification

The Orange Order embraces modern values of forgiveness, redemption and rehabilitation, but its good intentions are thwarted by meddling outsiders (who probably have an agenda).

After Scotlands clinched the title by beating Namibia in Nepal we lost to the hosts who have just defeated Namibia for a second time

The Nepal cricket team may be shite near the coast but they're clearly a different proposition 1400 m above sea level

Are more 6s hit at altitude?

Theoretically cricket balls will travel further but it probably doesn't make as much difference to the frequency of sixes as the variation in distances to the boundary at different grounds.

Scotland have got 99 balls left to bowl in their final World Cup League 2 fixture they need 2 wickets, Nepal need 61 runs

This is a recurring theme across a number of sports. The examples of Coors Field (MLB baseball) and the old Mile High Stadium (NFL Football) are the most commonly discussed, and there seems to be no solid evidence whatsoever that altitude makes any difference to how far a baseball can be hit or an american football kicked. Coors Field is a notorious 'hitters' park and seen as a nightmare for pitchers, but that is also true of other stadia that are not at altitude. My personal feeling is that it's simply a quirk of the stadium itself, and more to do with layout, dimensions, and prevailing wind currents inside the stadium than it is thinner air.

The main difference of playing sports at altitude appears to be that teams who host games there regularly are better acclimated, and can far better cope with the effects of lower oxygen on human physiology.

Well that seems to be working Nepal only need 9 runs in 48 balls.
