The race for the top six

post-43851-0-34752200-1370785102_thumb.j

With three teams fighting for the last two places in the top six, this weekend is set to be one of the most exciting of the weekend.

Hibs V Celtic

St. J v Motherwell

St. M v Hearts

However if all the teams manage to win and Aberdeen lose their goal difference they stand losing out, Aberdeen are also away from home and play Ross County.

Ferguson and his Hibs team have done great to get back into the top six race after a bad start to his Hibernian career, however with 8 goals and 6 points in the last two games Hibs have giving themselves a great chance, however play tittle chasing Celtic.

Good luck Sir Ward. If all else fails you can borrow him.

Hibernian's post split fixtures.

Dundee Utd (A)

Celtic (H)

Hearts (A)

Falkirk (H)

Aberdeen (A)

With St.Mirren gaining a place in the Scottish Cup final, Celtic and Falkirk already qualified for Europe, 3rd place is a must to qualify for next season Europa League. Hibs are currently 8 points behind 3rd place United with the next fixture at Tannidice park, should Hibs lose the season will be over for them(I will just skip the last few games and get ready for next season).

Hibernian get their man

attachicon.gifMixu_Paatelainen_1209618c.jpg

After a long and hard decision making process, I have decided that Edinburgh and Hibernian is the place where I want to take my career forward. First off I would like to thank all the backroom staff at Falkirk, furthermore the great support, the Bairns were fantastic to me in my time in charge. I was asked by one young fan, would this be the last Falkirk saw of Ferguson? Well for me at this moment in my career, I think I would love chance to return to Falkirk, however I feel that a minority of the fans will be unable to accept my reasoning behind leaving the club. I had asked Mr Petrie if we could leave this until the end of the season; however SFA rules stated that as it was not within the final third of the season then this would be a breach of SFA rules.

The hope now is with Hibernian’s supporter base and size of the club my next ambition is to break the Old Firms stranglehold on Scottish silverware. Mr Petrie has tabled his expectations and to be honest I think he lacks ambition, however we have talked about the lack of ambition and Mr Petrie believes that the clubs long term safety will be first and foremost on the agenda, then out growing the Old Firm.

Ferguson will play his first match this weekend as Hibernian manager vs Dundee United in the Scottish Cup Quarter final. Then faces the challenge of securing European football next year.

Sorry Gav, unfortunately to follow the rules of the challenge, however I have vowed to return to Falkirk when I hit 50 tittles.

Hibs reveal starlet Brown

post-43851-0-53233300-1370876055_thumb.j

The first player to arrive at Easter road this season. The deal was agreed last season after Ferguson arrived from Falkirk. Ferguson said at the time he was delighted and his word were no different today saying how Brown was ready to step straight into the team and show his worth. At just 19 Brown was recently handed his Ireland u21 debut and Ferguson has showed a lot of faith in the young lad.

Hibs to do everything in their power to sign Reilly

post-43851-0-70178700-1370877953.jpg

Alex Ferguson has approached St.Mirren regarding the purchase of the Scottish Cup hat-trick hero. Ferguson who is usually quiet and very anti-media has been out in the press twice this week to speak about Thomas. The one problem Ferguson faces with Reilly is the £900k reported asking price hanging over the young St.Mirren heros head.
