19QOS19 Posted July 11, 2016 Share Posted July 11, 2016 Croatia really should have buried them. Still can't believe they didn't. But if you don't take your chances you get what you deserve. They came 3rd in a group containing Austria, Hungary and Iceland. Neither are hardly spectacular teams. They also failed to beat either of these teams. They then came up against a really good Croatia side that would have annihilated them if they knew how to hit the target ffs. That's the one result that stung me during the tournament. Croatia played the best football in the tournament and were great to watch. The stats show they were just awful in the final 3rd and Portugal punished them with one of their rare chances. They then scraped by a shite Poland side. The finally won a match in 90 minutes against a Wales. Fair play to them. Wales were poor that day, whether the loss of Ramsay played a major part, who knows. And then there was the final. It's hard to argue that the team winning the trophy didn't deserve it. welshbairn Posted July 11, 2016 Share Posted July 11, 2016 (edited) In defence of Gaz I'd far rather Scotland faced Portugal than France in the near future. And Brora were a much more dangerous team than Cove Rangers last season, despite Cove accumulating more points. But Portugal were clearly the better team on the night and of course fully deserved it, as did Cove their Highland League title.
