Reasons to be Cheerful

Recommended Posts

Fairly enlightened by the neutral on the Brechin thread getting his frillies in a twist because the 'unwelcoming' club never sent him back a second reply text to keep him in the loop about on availability on the 250 tickets available for the Brechin v Kelty playoff game, this being after they replied saying they'd see what they could do.
He's not come across well at all, but he has a decent point. It's poor customer service to not get back to someone and it would put someone off using that company. Perhaps if a single Brechin fan had admitted that rather than circle the wagons, the boy wouldn't have ended up making a complete arse of himself.

Either way, its a very, very strange reason to be cheerful.

They did get back to him though. They said the chances of a ticket were unlikely but they'd see what they could do. If that was me I'd be firmly expecting not to get a ticket after that response and the only follow up message I would expect would be one saying they had a ticket for me. I wouldn't be hanging about waiting for a "we haven't got one for you" type message as the original text makes it pretty clear that's what the outcome is going to be.

I still think it's poor comunication and wouldn't want things handled like that at my work. A simple "If we've not got back to you within twenty-four hours assume we've been unable to secure you a ticket." takes seconds and lets everyone know where they stand. "We'll see what we can do" to me implies that once they've seen what they can do they'll let me know what that is.

Regardless, something along the lines of "Sorry no tickets were available but more should be available for games in future. We hope to welcome you to Hedge City later on this season. #ForzaCity." is just basic good practice. Have it saved as an email template and it takes seconds.

You’ll have better things to do than P&B on honeymoon but let us know if you find anywhere decent in London. The choice is mind-boggling. Heading down for a few days next month.

Dinner last night at Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester, without a shadow of a doubt, the best meal I’ve ever eaten in my life. Absolutely sensational from start to finish.

Currently sitting drinking cocktails in Covent Garden and watching Wimbledon, while Monkwoman gets her hair done.

Gordon Ramsay tonight at Royal Hospital Road.

Life is good.

Good day in the pharma game too brother [emoji41]

Give it a month or so and we'll pay Ducasse to serve us Tennents in the Station Hotel whilst we click our fingers at him and call him GARÇON

Sounds like a great way to spend a few days in London. Enjoy. And congratulations.

I’m delighted that you managed to visit a place without being arrested and/or banned.

Somehow, no idea how but I have a perfectly clean criminal record. I blame Police Scotland

Hopefully you managed to visit the Tesco at the airport.

I didn't but I did get a Burrito and some cans of Strongbow Dark Fruits held together by packing tape from a Tesco near my hotel
