Reasons to be Cheerful

Recommended Posts

My mother's just had a hip replacement. Amazed at how straightforward these surgeries are now. It's been less than two weeks and she's taking a trip on the bus today. Your dad's situation is probably more complicated, but you might need to do some nagging about physiotherapy, as my mum's heard hee-haw from them, despite plenty of promises

Anyway, enjoy your temporary freedom   :P

He's 94 so I doubt his recovery will be that quick. After hospital he'll be in recovery near our house, but still with 24 hour professional care which I have to say has been outstanding. I think Raigmore in Inverness specialises in this stuff, especially with the elderly. Looking like 6 weeks minimum. At which point he'll probably break his other hip (Rowan*) to keep being spoilt by the nurses.

Also, The Nacional Hotel bar does the best mojitos iv ever had by a fucking mile

My apartment is just down the road from the Nacional hotel and I love a good mojito so cheers! Is the Floridita the one that Hemingway drank himself to death in?

94, fucking hell...fair play to him, I doubt many of us will see that. Sounds like you've got some good genes* to fall back on, WB.

No it's not airside, so yes smoking is an option. Not that I'm a filthy cretin who would partake in such vile activities though.

Hope you get shipped off straight to work then. Is there still a horrible glass cubicle airside for smokers?

Beer Festival today, three Euro 2016 games tomorrow AND three on Sunday.

Looking forward to trying several new beers and regularly relating the pleasure of so doing to one mate who isn't allowed to go.

Why not 4 lots of 2 games, perfect.

Or just the 8 o clock fixture today and Monday then the three games each Saturday and Sunday.

I'm not happy with the way these euros are organised and wish there was some way in which I could vote to not be a part of it anymore.

It's almost like they're trying to give the teams a decent rest between the group stages and the last 16.

It's almost like they're trying to give the teams a decent rest between the group stages and the last 16.

1 - It wouldn't have been too hard to put this fixture on against two teams who had their matches in the first round of the final group match.

2 - They should be more than capable of playing games in this time frame as professional athletes.

3 - They are there for our entertainment, it's already obvious with the qualifying fixtures that TV is all that matters and folks going to games are second behind those watching on tv.

Let's take this over to PTTGOYN!

Woke up to find more money in my bank than I had expected. Been out for a haircut, bought some new clothes, took the old dear and my grandfolks out for some lunch and I'm now at home chilling with a few cans.
